This summers project is going to be my master bathroom. Now that Ive got the knack of laying tile, I need to upgrade that space. Currently, there is a smallish (3'6 x 3'-6") glass shower and a large soaking tub (no jets). If I were staying in this house forever, Id get rid of the tub altogether and just have a large shower with a couple of heads in it. But, I doubt I stay in this place more than another two years.  So, I have to consider resale. The cost to replace the existing tub with a nice whirlpool is comparable to what it would cost to just do the big shower. I dont have the space to do both, so its one or the other. (or, just leave what I have and save a couple grand)
If it were your house, which would you prefer?

My dream bathroom has a huge garden tub w/whirlpool jets which is separate from the double (two shower heads) corner shower.

I've seen them at home stores, but can't find a picture of the exact thing, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

A lot of the homes in our community had that option, but we just went for the whirlpool tub w/shower inside. To have a separate shower would  mean cutting into my walk-in.

I voted for shower and whirlpool.

My dream bathroom has a large 2 person sized standup shower with travertine walls and a glass door.  There would also be several shower heads.  AHHHHH I stayed in a hotel in Chicago that had this.  It was fun!

Hopefully you had someone with ya'.

The shower in my parents house when they first moved in had six shower heads. I never did quite understand it..there was one on each short side (one where it goes, one opposite wall) and four on the other wall across from the doors, in random places. I don't quite get it. The water pressure sucked, too. The previous owner did some sucky version of DIY.

I voted for shower and whirlpool tub. That's what we're getting put into our new home in the master suite. 8)
And it still has two HUGE walkin closets!

I voted for shower and soaking tub.......Deep tub to relax and soak in.....I loved my claw foot tub at the old house....Huge shower with steam and lots of shower heads.

I haven't taken a "bath" in probably 8 years...but, I miss the hot tub on a daily basis...

So, my ideal of a master bath suite would be a glass-enclosed shower with travetine tile walls and a jacuzzi/whirlpool garden tub.

Sounds wonderful, ladies...however, I feel fortunate when I get 3 minutes to myself in the bathroom!
