Our society is regulated by moronic laws that limit basic human rights (yes I'm talking mainly about pot...big suprise huh?).  And now business and the almighty $$$ have killed our evolutionary process.  So I propose that all politicians, CEO's, looney dictators, and anyone who watches American Idol be force fed a "heroic dose" of psilocybin mushrooms.  And if I ruled the world, I would make this happen because Darwin was mostly right, my God's a woman, and she wants me to contact our alien ancestry.  Join me.

LOL!!!!!  Your stuff strangely makes sense, IYT, IYT, IYT.  That means, either you are crazy...or the stuff I smoked and did in the 70's was the best EVER!!!!

Seriously, the almighty dollar is behind the denial of legalizing pot in this nation and it always has been.... :icon_evil:

Nevada takes the lead in common sense...finally.  I wonder if Mr. Ben Franklin will let this happen.

I have a question regarding this...

In California, marijuana use and cultivation is legal for medicinal purposes. A doctor issues his patient w/a RX card that the person keeps with him/her and that allows them to purchase it at "clubs" (specific stores) and if caught w/the marijuana up to the legal limit, the person can't be prosecuted for it. Recently (late last year I think), the Supreme Court upheld the federal ban on medical marijuana. Down went the clubs . . . although I think they have returned, perhaps due to an appeal? Not sure and I'd need to research that, but...

How will Nevada get around that? or is it a matter of not really "legalizing" it, but just raising the limit of what would be considered punishable?

Probably the latter, but I'm not sure.  The article says "  A coalition of religious leaders made a moral case Tuesday for legalizing the sale and possession of up to 1 ounce of marijuana for adults."  I just like the fact that it's religious leaders calling for this.  Hopefully this will have a domino effect and we will soon be hearing Southern Baptist Preachers proclaiming "I think what God meant to say was that marijuana is from the Earth as are we, and we have been very hypocritical towards our earthly brethren."  Or something.

I was lost deep in thought last night when I had a futtin'(fuckin) idea.  If potheads are serious about getting the stuff legalized, they need to become more proactive.  For example, potheads often gather and have peaceful protests and try to show how illogical marijuana legislation is.  Well, this obviously isn't working.  What if somehow, potheads got motivated and instead of having these peaceful protests, they gathered and did community service, completely voluntarily.  And not just one or two days out of the year but on a regular basis.  Show the ignorant that pot doesn't destroy everyone's motivation and that people can still smoke pot and be beneficial to society.  I talkin' about a large scale movement across the country that realistically will never happen because most potheads don't really care if it's legal or not because most have never been to jail and also it's very easy to get as it is being illegal.  Plus it seems money is more important that community service so I just wasted alot of brain power.

I think the only legalized way that you will see marijuana used (or at least a form of marijuana) is in the drug Marinol or some other marijuana based pill. I used to work in a pharmacy and we dispensed that to glaucoma and cancer patients. The one thing I never understood was the fact that the government allowed the pharmaceutical companies to make this drug for medicinal purposes, but they won't legalize it for that purpose. By allowing the manufacturing of Marinol, they are basically admitting that it has medicinal purposes. I would guess it has something to do with being able to control how much of it is sold, but they could do that with regular marijuana also. I really don't know!

Maybe if this is perfected, voters could use it when the researches are conducting polls to teleport their elected officials to parts unknown when they start doing a bad job.......  :o
