My special needs cat is sick. Champ is my rescue cat that has no eyes. She started throwing up this morning. She's been sick all day. I called the vets office and they didn't act like it was a big deal. They said take all food and water away from her,for 12 to 24 hours. I'm really worried she will get dehydrated. She had this one other time and was extremely sick. I don't know how much more of this stuff I can take. If something happens to her, I don't even want to think about it. It just never ends. Friday I had Mugsy put to sleep, and now Champy is sick. I've been so blessed to have her. She has struggled her entire short life. She has overcome so many obstacles and fought so hard to survive before I got her. I don't think I can face losing her. I seriously hope I'm overreacting and she's going to be fine. I really  am scared though. My animals are my everything. I dread going back to work tommorrow. If she's not better in the morning,I'll have to drop her off at the vet's office and leave her there all day. I really hate doing that ,because she gets scared, and disoriented any time there's a change in routine. Every time I take her anywhere it traumatizes her. I really, really hope I'm overreacting about this.

Well, you said that she's had it before. I hope that you're just overreacting a bit considering you're still quite emotional over Mugsy. Cat's are infamous for their delicate digestive system. I'm not sure how she is w/hair balls, but the long haired cats I had were always getting sick, then they'd cough up a huge hair ball and life went on as usual. So, I have my fingers crossed for you that it's something like that. Hang in there. It sounds like she has been through a lot, but she can sense how much you love her and because you love her so much, her days in her short life have been the happiest since you came into it.

Thanks, that helps allot.  She's not throwing up as much,I don't think there's any more in her stomach. She has probably vomited 15 times already. She wanted to eat at suppertime, but I'm not giving in. I hate to withhold food, but if it gets the situation under controll, then I'm all for it. I think she may have a fever and for some reason she keeps sneezing. She's for the most part pretty healthy considering her first weeks of life. The vet told me if I hadn't gotten her when I did,she probably would've died the next day. Her last litter mate died the night before I got her. So it was just in the nick of time.

Today I found out that  Champ has got feline Leukemia.  :'(  :'(    I really thought that was probably it,but I prayed I was wrong. I'm mad at God right now. Why would he let this poor little kitten,go through soo much???? We're not doing anything drastic. The vet did not say anything about putting her to sleep. She said, because Champ is young, she might just have flare ups, every once in a while. She's going to have ten days of antibiotics, thru daily injections. They wanted to keep her at the hospital the entire ten days. I asked if I could just bring her for them every day, and they said yes. We live a half an hour away, so I'm going to drop her off, on my way to work and she'll be there till I get off. The days I don't have work, I'll drive her in and then we'll come home. I cant imagine leaving her there ,for an extended length of time. It's too traumatic for her to be away from her normal environment. She gets so disoriented and confused.  So we're going to hope for the best and see what happens.

When you weren't around today, I was afraid something had happened. That poor kitty. It sounds like the vet wants to do everything he/she can do to save her. I'll send positive thoughts your's and champ's way.

Thanks, it helps allot. Unfortunately, Champ is in bad shape right now.   :'( :'(  We had an absolutely horrible night last night. She vomited  :puke: an average of 6 times an hour. I really thought I was going to lose her. I called the vets emergency number at 1:30 AM,left a message and they never called back. So it was a horrible night. I don't know why they have an emergency number, if they  call people back. That makes me mad. I took her over first thing this morning. I'm waiting to hear anything. I took the day off work, because I only slept about 20 minutes all night. My boss is probably pissed, but I don't care. I told her I had the flu. I just hope I'll hear something positive soon.

I brought Champ home tonight. She's not much better,so I'm pretty sure I'm changing vets tommorrow. They charged me $408 for 2 days of outpatient care. She hasn't shown much improvement, so their not getting anymore of my money. I hope she gets better soon, because I'm exhausted from watching her be so sick. It drains me to the point I couldn't  go to work today. Champ and I have been up for 48 hours straight.  :spooked: :spooked:

Took Champ to a new vet today. The prognosis is pretty grim. We're hoping for  a miracle. We've both been up for 3 days straight. Lack of sleep affects your job ,and I have enough problems, without being sleep deprived LOL!!! We're waiting on her newest test results,we should know something by tommorrow. Please say a prayer for us, we need all the help we can get.

Thanks  It helps to know that someone cares.   We haven't slept in 4 days. I'm so glad it's Friday.  . It doesn't matter if I don't sleep on the weekends, but it's very hard to go to work on no sleep.   When I'm sleep deprived I lose my sense of humor. When you work with the public, you gotta have a sense of humor, and patience and right now I've lost both LOL!!!
