Actors Bruce Willis and Susan Sarandon have put aside their political differences to team up and campaign for better treatment for injured US war veterans.

Both stars are appalled by the circumstances some Iraq war veterans find themselves in when they get back home, so Republican Willis and Democrat Sarandon are lobbying for more to be done to look after returning soldiers.

Sarandon says, "I realised that even though I got in to see a lot of people, I wasn't really able to see the Republicans. That's when I called Bruce.

"I didn't know him, but I did know that he saw himself as somebody who advocated these guys to go, and that he would surely be advocating for help for them when they got back."

Willis adds, "It's an unpopular was and they (veterans) do feel as if they're country has forgotten about them.

"I went to Walter Reed Army Medical Center... I couldn't stop crying. It was just heartbreaking. They come home with arms and legs shot off, their lives wrecked, and not a lot of help from the government... Somebody's got to speak out for veterans.

"Susan and I are both talking about the same issue. I feel the same way that she does on it."

This is exactly what needs to be done right now.............political issues need to be put aside, and throw 100% support behind the troops.........I applaud, Sarandan, (somebody, I'm not a big fan of)...the soldiers have got to come first, and be taken care of.....

I'm of two minds on this.  One is that, yes, America has an deep and implicit obligation to those whom are injured/maimed in required service to this country.  Two, people can't say they (those who have gone overseas to fight) haven't placed themselves in that situation by docilely and blindly following their 'Commander-in Chief' and their superiors.  It certainly poses the question, why didn't  stand up for the Constitution instead of laying down and following 'orders'?

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa
