WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?

I'm not sure. I have been trying to figure that out myself and this is why. Well there's a couple of reason's ...

1) Going to different churches the Preachers tend to contradict one another.

2) Church going folks from my experience pick and choose parts of "The Book" in which they want to live by.
I don't quite grasp how you can be a Christian and a sinner.   :dizzy2:

And yet you advocate war...pretty much makes you a hypocrite of the worst kind; huh?

maybe it does...I'm not a fan of war of any kind.......but, unfortunatly, I believe that is the only way to keep my family safe from evil.....even Jesus was not here to bring peace, but He DID bring a sword......He knew that (especially) being a Christian would bring persecution, trials and hardships....I believe that we should ALL live by the fruit of the Spirit.....but we are not door matts.....and defending our life and liberty is a critical part of being able to do so...

Sorry, but Ghandi was no christian and he is one of the few people that could complete your list of "being".  ML King might come in a distant second, but a very distant and he claimed to be a christian.

I never stated that only Christians CAN be people of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control....but it would be a good sign...........that is what Jesus promoted...

Henry Hawk has his own area in this section too.  There are some interesting discussions that go on there as well.  Stop by and visit him when you get a chance.  ;D

Yesterday...I was told that there is no such thing has semi-Christian belief.   What is it when you incorporate several religious teachings and not all of them are Christianity?  I call it Spiritual, and I hold semi-Christian belief's because I believe in more than just Jesus and God....but not in more than one Creator and his flesh & blood counterpart.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Ya' really think so, huh?

Here's a current example:  try polygamy.

That's only one example of how differing beliefs are surpressed, usually by other religious beliefs, right here in the good ole' U.S. of A..  ; )

Just out of curiosity, which war rises to the level of keeping your family safe or defending life and liberty?

The Revolutionary War??

I was thinking of something a bit more contemporary.  However, my guess Hank is still fighting the Civil War
