I believe, we should adopt the English language as the official language of the United States.......encourage "legal" immigrants to become citizens, but to adapt with a common language, this would to not only bind us together as citizens, but it instill american values, and a common culture.... :yes:

interestingly enough, one of the strongest supporters of this idea that i know is an immigrant from germany.  he speaks fluent german, english, french, russian, and japanese.  he says anyone who doesn't learn the language of the country they live in is just plain lazy.

They only way to assimilate fully into a country is to learn to speak the language.
