This is interesting...65 million years ago.

Yeah. That's supposedly when the big one hit that wiped out all the dinosaurs. (well, almost all of them....we still have birds.)

Hey, Glad I was looking around, i just posted this at the church lady's corner.

This is a great link to answer all your questions about the dinosaurs and the Bible

There are more studies out there but this one is the clearest one that I have found, read it tell me what you think!

LOL!!  Clearly that's a website for the more delusional among us.  From the article:

Quote

Answers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e., Christianity-defending) ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith, and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis, as it is the most-attacked book of the Bible. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview, and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas, and its bedfellow, a "millions of years old" earth (and even older universe).

I'm sorry.  There are religious folk who don't discount science.  The only religous folk who do discount science are the ones that are scared of having their beliefs questioned.  I do believe that you may fall into that category.

Many people ask ?'s about this and the article is based on the Bible scriptures as the answers, history book.
Were there dinosaurs in the Bible, yes.
When did they die during the flood-I believe that. It make since, most bones were pretty much together, not like an explosion.
Did they walk together dinosaur and man, according to the Bible they did, man and animals were created on the 6th day, in our belief.
How old is the world, they calculated from no back through the generations- how old around 6000 years old.-who really knows but that make more since(to me any way.)BC-AD thing.
you asked I gave a link, the Bible or evolution...for me, it has a better explanation to what happen to them, but in school I was taught the same thing as every other child, millions of years ago the dinosaur roamed the Earth...their mysterious extinction...who are you going to look to for the answers? Some will want proof, but they will not take the Bible for proof, so that is there choice, but that is what the Bible's explanation is. Of course it is going to be different from science-but isn't science the best educated guess? And to some the Bible is just a book. Not every one will have all the answers except God, and His Word to me is good enough. This article is backed up with scriptures, but the end is some thing that I have learn isn't the literal eternal hell, so we can take what we find and see if the truth is in it, really that is all we can do with anything.

In a word, no.

Baby steps.  We all must crawl before we can walk.  You've decided that the there is no literal eternal hell.  That's a start.

I don't see how anyone can put forth the idea that the Earth is a mere 6,000 years old and expect to be taken seriously.   It is my opinion that you have to disengage a large part of your brain to believe in such malarky.

LOL! Does that phrase bring back memories! That's the exact phrase that my Bible professor used in his class. The dude was probably 80 years old but VERY progressive and open minded.

No set up here. I just don't see how any one knows how old the earth is, millions just seems so, uh long ago.
What does the test results say...2 million years old, yep this rock by tests is 2 million years old. How? Cut down a tree and they figure the rings tell age, the oldest they say was 300 years.(<-from research at school millions of years ago ;D)
Thousands make more sense to me. But that's me, but why can't it be thousands? Look over the last 100, or even 200 years ago, how things have changed with technology and lands developing? 200 years from now it'll be like the Jetsons?? I just wanted to say no set up.

The Grand Canyon wasn't built in a day, or a thousand years, but millions of years.  I know because I designed it after licking several Colorado River toads (Bufo alvarius), and asking God where he wanted that gosh damn thing.  He said to me "A mighty river will run through a desert and carve into the land a mighty valley that all the people of the earth will stare in awe at."  I said "God, quit bogartin' them toads and let me get to work."
