Have been away for a while -- away from my usual schedule-- and when I decided to check in here at the zone couldn't get in. How like me to have a lot of different things happen at once, including a new format here. Anyway, hello y'all, good to see at least some of you here. Want to share one thing that has made me smile in the midst of more than normal bad news: One day I was on my front stoop when a neighborhood cat stopped by. I fed him a little and up walked a jet black cat. He went straight for the food -- while the other cat let him, and ate every bite, then ran off. The next day, I was again out front with my bag of cat food, when that black cat showed up, looked up at me and meowed the most pitiful meow I have ever heard. I guessed he was starving to be so bold, so fed him until he finally walked away, and every day since, he has shown up, always with that pitiful meow, so looks like I'm going to have a new family member   :smitten: -- I already have one cat. I have fixed blackie a temporary bed in a snug corner  of my porch, and he has accepted it as his new home.

Hi Libby!  I'm not much of a cat person, but I would be doing the same thing!! I have a soft spot for animals.

I'm not much of a cat person either, especially female cats.  They're bitches.
