I thought you had military experience. We have military parades before and we have parades for a lot of things. St. Patrick's Day, some Polish guy who fought in the revolutionary War, Fourth of July, and Christmas to name a few. If I thought they would actually use the money that word be spent on a parade for vets or current personnel then sure do that. But you know they won't.

All I know is, that it isn't fun to be the soldiers in the parade.  It hard work marching and cleaning the damn machines they will use in the parade.

I do have military experience and the parades you mention are not military parades at all.  As a nation, we traditionally have only had military parades to celebrate definitive victories on the battle field.  I think this will work with the least amount of cost to the taxpayers:

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

I know the parades I mentioned are not military. They are examples of different things we celebrate with parades. I really don't about a parade, but I don't see the harm in one either, sans hardware.

I find it rather amusing just how many heads exploded by Trump merely MENTIONING a possibility of a Military Parade to Honor our Military.

I swear, it he found a cure for cancer, many liberals would find something negative and whine like there was no tomorrow...

I find it ironic that those who previously held the least amongst this nation hostage to further their political ideals surrounding spending cuts, now are willing to spend billions upon frivolous displays of Sabre rattling. . .

First of all, it isn't a done deal.......Trump merely suggested it.  And the media BLEW UP!  THAT is what I find ridiculous.

This has nothing to do with honoring our military at all.  Read the article I posted a link to.

I think there is too much over thinking going on.  I simply believe, Trump, in his typical, overzealous fashion, wants to pay a tribute to our Military.  Right or wrong, and I can see both sides of this argument.

Do we really need it?
Do we need to spend more tax payer dollars on something that isn't going to give us a return?

I think we certainly, without a doubt, waste an unbelievable amount of money on frivolous accounts....is paying a tribute to our Military wasteful, considering the numerous other infractions we do on a daily basis?

I like the idea of it, but not sure if we need it....

But, I certainly don't believe to be anything bad.

Oh he won't find a cure to cancer.     If he did he would cut the funds to it.

Wouldn't it be something if he had his parade and then got impeached?

The best thing Trump  could do for himself and the country and the military is to get rid of family, friends, and  high level military officers in the White House, and replace them with some military noncoms and/or career federal government workers. (Oh, I forgot, he fired or forced out most of the career civilians.) It may be too late for him, though, because probably his worst mistake was to insult the FBI.

He didn't insult the FBI....only a few of the top dogs that proven to be as crooked as a dogs hind leg...I have seen plenty of interviews by FBI agents who are concerned at the leadership at the top.

BTW, he isn't going to be impeached...keep dreamin.

I still think a parade isn't a BAD THING, just to those of you who are so full of hatred at this POTUS, you look for anything to turn something good to bad. That's the way I clearly see it.

Uh, if I were you, I'd be a little more careful about statements like the above about the FBI. You or some of your family or friends might someday "need" their services.  I speak from personal experience:
,
When I decided, a decade or two ago to leave my job in the medical field to take a job with the feds, I found out that it required a top secret security clearance. It began with a long interview and a lot of personal questions, including names of people (not relatives) who could vouch for me -- beginning where I grew up. I gave them two: one a friend I'd known since grade school, and  two, a friend I'd known for a long time: the former a nurse, the latter a lawyer. Not long after that, I got a call from my nurse friend, who said the FBI had be, and another friend
