76% approved the SOTU speech.

76% of those who wasted their time watching it so likely people who already support him.  I'm loving watching them cry about their taxes right now.

I actually thought it was the best speech I have heard him give. Should have left out the part about NK, that just came out stupid. I'm not a fan of visual aids but I did like introducing the WWII veterans. I wish someone would tell the Speaker of the House that sucking on a lemon drop when you are on tv makes for some really bad facial expressions.

CBS news poll
82% independent voters
97% Republican
30% Democrat

Approved his speech

Nearly 49 million viewers

When compared to President Obama's second State of the Union address in 2011, Trump's 48 million tops the 44th president's audience of 42.8 million viewers.

I watched/listened to him. The whole thing. He says he does not read, obviously thinks being the POTUS equals being KING, and in his ignorance can, may be doing irreparable damage. His premise to begin with, that if he brought in the highest level of the government, specifically military (generals, et.al.) to do the every day stuff, he'd take care of the rest.  So much for that.

The Troll

To hear Henry and Anne talk and the rest of the Christian far right religious kooks.  :pope:  You would think that Jesus Christ the Savior has returned in the form of Donald Trump. :haha:  How far out can that be.  Let us pray.  :preach:  Somebody say Amen.   :shots:

Locutus, it is going to get down to 14 below zero tonight here in Indiana.  How cold is it down there with the Arctic out burst.  :cold:  Trump says there is no global warming.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I've been swamped at work.  Sorry also that you're having to deal with an Arctic blast.  Heard via the grapevine that it has warmed back up a bit.  Spring isn't that far away!  ;D

Yep.  One of my Facebook friends was crying about that very thing.  Yet her xenophobia/racism still has her strongly in Trump's camp.  It's beyond unbelievable.

Here's exactly what she said:

"So, who does the tax reform hurt? Me. To the tune of over 5K since I just bought a house last year and can't deduct the interest now. Heartbreaking. I am also double whammied by no raise as a federal employee because the President halted that. Idk who has the 5K+ I should've gotten-the poor, the rich? I'm still team Trump but damn, that hurts. As a single, middle class mom, I don't believe I should be one of the ones carrying such a large part of the burden. Nobody's perfect, that's for sure. What dumb luck but still #MAGA use my 5K to #buildthewall."

Yet she'll continue to vote against her own economic best interest in the next election, and attributes it all to "dumb luck."  If that isn't the most crystal clear definition of stupidity, then I don't know what is.

As someone in the top 10% of income earners who files single and takes the standard deduction, I earned more than $3K more in 2018 than in 2017 but saw my federal tax liability decrease by more than $2,000.00.  Can you please thank her for me and let her know her money didn't go for a wall but into my bank account?  You can't fix stupid.

Actually, instead of playing cheerleader, why don't you address what happened to my friend this tax season?
