Interesting places to visit.

It's been an interesting week. We took a bus trip to Cincinnati to see a Reds/Cubs game. The game was great and I was impressed with the new park. Elevators and escalators eliminated a lot of steps, lots of good baseball food. We went to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. It was very interesting and the woman who led the tour was very knowledgeable. Lots of displays, pictures, an original slave holding structure and a video. It was well worth the admission price (about$15). We also went to The Ark Encounter. Whatever your take on religion, the ark was something to see, largest all wood structure in the world. Inside was interesting, someone put a lot of thought into how it may have worked. It was all setup how the animals might have been contained, the food and oil stored, etc. There was also a petting zoo and a zip line that a lot of people were using. The restaurant was a buffet. Not bad but nothing special. There was lots, and I mean really lots of walking and no shade. You can rent wheelchairs and scooters, no steps in the ark, only ramps.

Anyone else willing to share somewhere interesting to go see?

I'll add more to this thread later, but if you're looking for good "baseball food," go and visit some of the street vendors outside Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore. The smells of it all are amazing and you'll have a hard time deciding where to eat.

One of my friends who goes down to Orioles' games all summer told me how good the food is from the street vendors.  Also told me about a bar with good food.  I need to ask him about that for the next trip down to Baltimore.

There are all kinds of bars, pubs, and restaurants around that area.  Lots of good food and adult beverages to be had.

He has a favorite that's supposed to have cheap beer and good food.  Can't beat that combo!

Don't know that I will ever get to Baltimore, but it sounds like it would be fun.

Greenfield village and the Henry Ford museum. Everything from the chair Lincoln was assassinated in to full size dioramas of period kitchens throughout history. You can spend days in the place and never see it all.

PH, that reminded me, in Ft. Myers the Thomas Edison house is open and Henry Ford's house next door is also open. It was interesting to hear about their friendship. There were some neat old cars, too.
