Taking off a bit on this comment by Exterminator...

I'm starting to understand why Putin was so interested in seeing Trump get into the White House.  I think Russia and China are working together to try to draw the U.S. into a war and Putin understands that Trump is just unstable enough to take the bait.  I have never been one who is into conspiracy theories but believe that North Korea's continued missile launches and Syria's recent use of a chemical weapon are deliberate provocations.

...it appears that things are about to get very serious in Syria.  Trump has all but promised some sort of response to the latest chemical attack by Assad.

Given that the Russians are supporting Assad, what happens when the US strikes at Assad's forces in retaliation?  That puts a US military response squarely up against Russian interests.

No good is going to come from this at all.

Thoughts?

Let's put it this way, they'll find out Trump ain't no Obama and if he draws a red line he won't go back on his word. He also knows talking nice to our ememies won't make them play nice.

But what of the ramifications of such an action in the broader Middle East policy, especially given the opposite position the Putin has taken in the conflict?

There is increasing evidence that members of his campaign and transition have been "talking to our enemies" all along.

Could it have been part of their job description? Do you know what they were talking about? Maybe they were talking about their kids or grandkids.

Juvenile responses like that are unworthy of a serious conversation.

Too bad you're allowed to vote.

You lost me at the suggestion that they were talking about children and grandchildren.

That was a stupid move on his part.  I'll readily admit that.

Can you criticize your own in the same manner?

From what I remember a call was made at the request of Obama and the other meeting's were at the W H under chance circumstances where several other people were and not secret meetings.

Fox News is reporting that Russian warships are heading toward the two U.S. Navy ships from which last night's missile attacks were launched.  :spooked:

Yep, gas prices which have been steady for a couple of years are going up as well.  Up $.25 at Costco just in the past couple of weeks.
