The residents of Middleborough, Massachusetts, have had enough of this *#%@&!

And on Monday night they voted to make those who curse put their money where their potty mouths are - to the sum of $20, that is.

Police in the town of 22,000 will be writing tickets bearing fines in that amount to those who foul its public places with profanity after residents voted 183-50 Monday night that they were mad as *#%@& and weren't going to take it anymore.. . .

Years ago I warned that municipalities, states, and our federal government would be getting "creative" surrounding ways to supplement their revenue streams in order to replace the revenue lost with the flight of manufacturing from this nation. The above was just one of a plethora of examples, and here is another one:

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KCRA-TV) - During a summer afternoon in August 2015 after a long day on the job, Joseph Schwab, 36, was heading home in the San Francisco suburb of Fairfield when he was pulled over.
The officer described seeing him "weaving in and out of traffic almost causing several collisions." More seriously, the officer also believed he was under the influence of a drug.

"I was 100 percent confident that I was not under the influence of anything," Schwab said.

Inside the car, the officer said she found a number of workout supplements, including powders. All of them were legal.

She conducted several field sobriety tests and found Schwab's pupils were dilated.

"The driver seemed very amped up, very agitated, very combative, and she thought he was under the influence of something," Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said.

The officer arrested Schwab and took him to jail, where he agreed to a blood test. The results came back negative for cocaine, THC, opiates, methamphetamine, oxycodone and several other drugs.

However, there was one positive hit, caffeine. . .

Yup. DUI for caffeine in his system.

Indiana, being the sheep state that it is, is sure to follow suit and begin charging those of us leaving Starbucks, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, and Steak N Shake in the early morning hours with DUI due to the pot  of coffee consumed while inside.

Next, it will be yet another substance they will test for before you can receive social security benefits. . .

PH, what do you think of the courts in  Arkansas, I believe wanting that's amazon Echo because it recorded a murder and Amazon is refusing to turn it over. The comment they are using what happens in the home is private but when it become a murder is it private?

I'll bet Amazon will cough that information up if they're served a subpoena for it.

I believe not sure they were but still didn't want to give the information up. I will have to check into that and see but I just think if a person has committed murder that one would be willing to work with the authorities.

Okay, just read that Amazon were issued a warrant to release the information from the Echo and they are refusing.

Locutus

Without knowing the specifics of what triggers that thing, I'm not sure there's going to be anything useful stored on Amazon's servers anyway.

Supposedly and I don't know because I have never seen one or know what they can do but supposedly it can record and save data and conversations.

I was just reading a bit about it.  Apparently, the words "Alexa" or "Amazon" will trigger the recording mechanism.  So unless either the perpetrator or victim was screaming "Amazon" or "Alexa" during the course of the murder, then it wouldn't have recorded anything.

Is the moral of the story if you are getting murdered is to yell "Alexa!  I'm being murdered by Bubba!  He's using a knife on me!"?
