Kind of sounds like I'm the only one who wasn't on another forum before this one.

That frigging Avatar you are using MUST be banned immediately! (And I am sure you know why). It was used by she whose name must never be spoken.

There was a Tinfoil Hat but I want to say this guy called himself Billy Bob or something like that?

I remember that sumbitch too!

I do remember someone liking it when I used it come to think of it and she took it and used it too so I changed mine. I'll have to find the other one I changed it to.

Who remembers the old whack-job from Trona?

I do.  He went under several names because he kept getting banned.  Tinfoil, Tinfoil Hat, Billy Bob etc. were some of them.  He was good friends with Numbnut Mike who was a mod for Anderson while it was on HM and then headed up the last HB forum created after HM imploded.  Basically, no one but Mikey's socks would post on the HB forum he ran.

Holy shit!  We've been at this for 10 years?   :spooked:

The Zone has been around since 2000-2001 (I could document it as far back as 2001 and think it existed before then).

It started out on free forum platforms that kept disappearing as the free hosts went under.

It finally moved to its own hosting here in 2006.

I've been around since the origins, but now only off and on.

It does seem like yesterday.  Time has really flown.

I think the Hey Martha was active at least 2 years itself prior to us finding our way here.  I think HM started sometime in 2004 if I recall correctly.

HM evolved as a national platform for local CNHI newspaper's local paper's forums such as the original Herald Bulletin forum.

HM imploded due to bad and corrupt management; putting corrupt people like 'Sweeper' in charge (Sweeper who became embroiled in a phishing scandal, sexual improprieties, and sexual harassment on HM), allowing local forums to put bad moderators in place like Mikey and Tattoo Vampire with all their trolling, biased moderating, and socks;and all the lawsuits aimed at CNHI and the local papers for their bad forum management practices and corrupt admin and mods.

The original HB forum was so 'Wild West' that you could catbird others screen names, post libel and others personal information, and was full of trolls - just like Topix nowdays.

If HM had not been corrupt and instead been properly run and moderated, Topix would have never grown - or possibly ever existed.  Back when HM closed, most of the trolls from there moved to Topix due to the similar corrupt and lax administration.

Now, practically all the old trolls have been replaced by new ones, and any decent posters have either stopped posting, or quit forums altogether because of bad experiences like HB, HM, and Topix.

That this place never put up with trolls has been both a boon and a curse.  It's still here for that reason, but there aren't droves of people here for the same reason.  You can have traffic if you allow trolls, but there will not be any intelligent discussion ever.

I thought you were CWM on Hey Martha.

Hank used that on the old HB prior to HM and he may have carried it over for some time on HM.

That's also where we all first ran across she whose name shall never be spoken!   :spooked:

She has a 'jar' around here somewhere.  ;D

Old Kooks is still around - just like Ziggy (Tattoo Vampire) - under various screen names trolling Topix.

Neither one of them ever grew up - like most of the posters on Topix so they fit right in there with the rest of the immature howling baboons clawing and fighting with each other.

I dare say some of us for 16 years or more. . . I first met Y at the old IndyStar forums back in the day. . . And he lured me over to the HB "fish wrap " forum. . . And the rest is history. . . And a damned large window of it!  :spooked:

And the Muncie Star Press forum run into the ground by the idjit who sabotaged HM with his AFP which, like Topix with Tolles, was only a manipulative personal revenue stream.

IINM, the Indy Star forum still exists but, like so many other forums due to bad management, allowing trolls to make it a shadow of its former self.

Yeah I noticed that.

You can't appease those Topix people much.  They seem to thrive on the infighting that goes on there daily.  They fight 24/7/365, fighting the same fights, against the same people, using the same insults, over and over, for years now; holidays included.     They roll out some of the most childish insults, like, "Do you need a tissue?" etc. when going back and forth with you, rather than addressing any topic in a cogent manner.   Of course, maybe they're incapable of addressing anything in a cogent manner and all they're capable of is childish insults.   ;D

I just don't get it.

Because I had the dirt on them and neither one of them could argue themselves out of a brown paper bag.

They couldn't stand being on places where they didn't have their finger on the button and weren't in control.

This also reminds me of Topix.

There is something definitely strange about some of the 'regular posters' around there and which posts are chosen for removal.  It seems to me that content is removed more so because of whom is targeted rather than the content of the posts themselves.

I witnessed something along these exact lines happening a couple of Sundays ago.

It's beyond me.  I can't understand how some of those people being the age they are acting as they do - repetitively.  It's as if they have no other purpose or goal in life.

One of the other things that offends me about them is that they appear to be inveterate liars down to the last one...

...but that's something you get when you have such systemic falsities that place allows with the blatant use of multiple accounts and unregistered posting.

Oh that place is as corrupt as they come, just like the old HB and HM forums.

Corrupt capitalism for a revenue stream, bad administration/moderation, ties to mods and/or mods posting, along with unregistered posting and multiple accounts...

...<sarcasm> how could that possibly be a recipe for disaster?</sarcasm>
