It's an awful situation.

These lone wolf style terrorists represent the greatest threat to our domestic security in my opinion.  I think that opinion is borne out by the facts of the San Bernardino and now Orlando attacks.

Yes and the News Media is creating another terrorists attack.     24 hour news coverage of the Muslim attack.     Now everyone of these mentally ill nuts will think they can be famous by killing unarmed Americans.

At least Hank will be happy you're calling it a 'Muslim' attack.  He faults the president for not doing so.

More firearm control is not the answer here. For several decades we've seen this band-aid used to placate the masses as an effective measure toward controlling firearm related violence; none of it effective at doing anything but increasingly filling the coffers of state and federal entities.

Disarming a nation is not the answer either. If that is done then only the criminals will have firearms. Then what?

I do not know the answer to this scourge, for unlike many like-minded individuals I do not support arming every single man/woman in the nation either. Clearly there are those that should not own firearms either.

These lone wolf attacks are virtually impossible to stop unless the perp is a blabbermouth. And even if we destroyed every single firearm in this nation, they would then use bombs, knives, vehicles. . . The list is endless.

Mental health is a contributor though.

Of course he does.  It's ironic that the same people who were attacking the LGBT community a couple of weeks ago over bathrooms are now blaming Muslims for targeting them as well.  And then there's the whole James Wesley Howell thing...

Yeah, the James Wesley Howell thing is really bizarre.  Seems to me, from what I've read, that he is gay himself, yet apparently was going to target a gay pride event.

Where on the forum did I state such a thing?

I noticed you like to talk it up when you are around your friends, but when it is a different atmosphere, you aren't.  ;D ;)

I have this to say.  It is sickening and heartbreaking that we lost 49 innocent lives in a horrific attack by a RADICAL ISLAMIC MUSLIM.  That is what he is.  That ideology is why he did what he did.

I find it somewhat disturbing when our POTUS refers this as an "act of hate or terror".  When the majority of the thinking world KNOWS it is much more than that.....Homeland Security and the FBI almost immediately declared it to be ISIS related, that the shooter had pledged alliance to ISIS....yet crickets from the WH.
He wasn't all that concerned about getting his facts first when it came to Trayvon Martin or Ferguson....

He has also yet to contact the Gov of Florida. The most horrific act of terrorism since 9/11, and hasn't contacted the Gov.

Okay, I know you know that I dislike this POTUS...but, it doesn't help matters when he shows this lack of leadership.

BTW Ex, I see NO CHRISTIANS killing Gays.  I did see where Chik-fila opened its stores on Sunday to feed the families of the victims and the authorities working on this case.

I guess that they will have to take the Chik-Fila employees to the outside of the towns and stone them to death for working on Sunday.   :ogod:

Reports are out that the wife of Orlando massacre gunman Omar Mateen knew of his plans to kill patrons in the Pulse gay nightclub and did nothing about it.

There is absolutely no evidence so far to support that he had any contact with or support from ISIS or any other known terrorist network.

From: http://www.alternet.org/tea-party-and-right/10-worst-terror-attacks-extreme-christians-and-far-right-white-men

"When white males of the far right carry out violent attacks, neocons and Republicans typically describe them as lone-wolf extremists rather than people who are part of terrorist networks or well-organized terrorist movements. Yet many of the terrorist attacks in the United States have been carried out by people who had long histories of networking with other terrorists. In fact, most of the terrorist activity occurring in the United States in recent years has not come from Muslims, but from a combination of radical Christianists, white supremacists and far-right militia groups."

Mr. Mateen's father, Seddique Mir Mateen, was unequivocal on Monday that his son had committed an "act of terrorism."

She'll most likely face charges if that's the case.
