I'm really thinking of getting out of the stock market now, while the bloom is still on the rose.

Now would appear to be the time before the bloodletting begins.

Well. Nancy Pelosi has asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign. Reason: He lied about contact with Russians. Source:  MSNBC. A regularly scheduled program was interrupted by breaking news about Trump and his people and the Russians. I sat there for 2 hours trying not to miss a thing, and I swear it sounded like a good spy novel.

I need to get some sleep so won't try to describe all that went on  except for one thing that was both surprising and reassuring: when former POTUS Obama was made aware of certain information regarding what has been going on, he very carefully passed  it on to certain others he could trust.

Two newspapers, The Washington Post and one other, will air the stories tomorrow morning.

It is more Political Theater!

From what I hear is this:

Sen. Patrick Leahy asked Sessions if he had  "been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after Election Day?"

The attorney general was not asked if he had been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government for any reason during the entire course of the year.

Session answered the question.....

What he DID do is have meetings with foreign ambassadors, which is part of his job....Senators do an a regular basis.  This is nothing more than sore -assed liberals pouncing pathetically on an opportunity to further smear everyone/anyone associated with Trump....this is BS at its finest.

Keep telling yourself that...the clock is ticking on Sessions.

I'll say it again.  This is Hank:

We were gritting our teeth waiting for the first of the year to get out before Drumpf could do something that would cause stocks to fall.

There was a story on the news the other day I caught in passing that was talking about all the people getting out of the market.

I find it rather sad that when you can't fault the content you fault the person with a personal attack. He didn't stammer and stutter or hold his head up looking down his nose in an egotistical manner, he looked straight at the people/camera and spoke in trems of the people rather than himself. He was inclusive rather than divisive.

Pffft!

You'd better read my post again:

I don't know how anyone but the sub-100 crowd can stand to listen to him.

His language skills are atrocious, and his content is third grade level and rarely coherent
.

I find it extremely difficult to believe he graduated college on his own merit.

English is where they get rid of the chaff, and he doesn't exhibit the skills to have passed basic English 101.

As a matter of fact, I find him worse than listening to 'athletes' and I absolutely HATE listening to 'athletes'!

I specifically addressed 'content'.

And as far as "trems (sic)of the people", that's what I meant about poor language skills and the sub-100 group.  Most people can hardly use the language.

The retail sector is collapsing even as we speak.

They have had 7 years...7 years to come up with something...anything...and they have nothing.

They haven't because their loyalty is to their korporate masters and their anti-social ideology rather than to the American people and society.

I can't think of one damn Repug since T. Roosevelt who has been ardently for the people...

...and yet the sub-100 crowd salivate for the red meat Drumpf and his party throw them.

Pure abject stupidity!

Session answered the question.....

That cretin Sessions knew exactly what was being aimed at and he was deliberately disingenuous.

And it wasn't just with him, most of the hearings I've looked in on have full of nothing but saying BS Drumpf's appointees think the grillers want to hear instead of the truth - just like Sessions.

I would not be surprised in the least to see what have been the mainstays small-town America (K-mart, Penny's, Sears, Target etc.) retail disappear before too long.

They already are!  Sears/K-mart are all but gone, Penny's just announced 140 store closures...but it isn't just them...The Limited (who every retailer wanted to be in the '80's) just closed all of their stores, Macy's is closing 68 (with more on the horizon, look for Kenneth Cole, Lord and Taylor, Wet Seal, etc. to make announcements soon...even H.H. Gregg is in chapter 11!  It's getting pretty ugly out there!
