I'm watching a bit of the Jeff Sessions confirmation hearings and it makes me want to puke.  He has no business being the AG of the United States.

Why?
There are SEVERAL black pastors who are there to support him.......give me some reasons as to why you think he has no business being the AG.

Seriously?  I try so hard to get you to think, but I never succeed.

Let alone the fact that he's being vetted by a bunch of old, backslapping, racist, patronizing, fearful and hate-mongering men, let's just examine some of Sessions' positions setting his obvious racism aside.

  • He opposes criminal justice reform bills.
  • He has an extreme fondness for civil asset forfeiture.
  • He has an inherent, almost reflexive, defense of police from federal civil rights oversight.
  • He embraces the drug war despite clear evidence that it's not working.
  • He has a regressive stance on marijuana legalization.

Every single one of these positions is antithetical to a free society, and they are all harmful to poor and minority communities in particular.

Give me something more difficult next time.

I can honestly say that when it comes to racist AG's....Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder are at the top of the list.

There was nothing cut and paste about what I posted Hank.  Unlike you, I'm perfectly capable of expressing my own thoughts sans the help of others.

Verbatim?  :rotfl:

You're hopeless Hank.
Uh, yeah...verbatim  .........don't distract the fact that you DID copy & paste YOUR alleged "original" thoughts..............

This whole Trump victory really has you on the ropes, doesn't it

from the article I posted a link too...

The conservative commentariat has been less than enthusiastic about Sessions' nomination to lead the Justice Department. National Review's Michael Tanner wrote last week that "red flags in Sessions's record that should worry those who believe in limited government and individual liberty," noting his opposition to criminal justice reform bills, his fondness for civil asset forfeiture, his reflexive defense of police from federal civil rights oversight, his embrace of the drug war, and his regressive stance on marijuana legalization.

I thought you were perfectly capable of expressing your own thought?  You are just another Parrot, that you accuse me and me (no pun intended) of....Your thought sure seem like Michael Tanners thoughts.....

I clearly recall your own vitriolic postings within the same vein, directed at the outgoing POTUS. . .

Wonder what tomorrow will bring? When I turned off my TV about an hour ago, news talkers on MSNBC were speculating about some startling new information: Attached to a classified brief given to President Obama and Donald Trump by security officials was a 2 page document that supposedly contains information about Trump that could be devastating -- something about him and the Russians.

Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings.

The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump.

The classified briefings last week were presented by four of the senior-most US intelligence chiefs -- Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers.

One reason the nation's intelligence chiefs took the extraordinary step of including the synopsis in the briefing documents was to make the President-elect aware that such allegations involving him are circulating among intelligence agencies, senior members of Congress and other government officials in Washington.

These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings.

The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.

These same allegations about communications between the Trump campaign and the Russians, mentioned in classified briefings for congressional leaders last year, prompted then-Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to send a letter to FBI Director Comey in October, in which he wrote, "It has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government -- a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States.". . .

Puppet for Russia. . .

Here are the key points you need to know about the intelligence documents on President-elect Donald Trump and Russia:

• Most of the information in the documents comes from a single source, a former intelligence officer for a western country who specialized in Russian counter-intelligence.

• The report accuses Russia of "cultivating, supporting, and assisting" Trump for "at least five years." It also asserts that Russia has possible "blackmail" information on the president-elect, including sexual and financial misconduct, as well collusion between Trump aides and Kremlin officials during last year's election.

• All of the allegations against Trump are unsubstantiated and unverified.

• Trump described the reports as "fake news" and a "witch hunt."

• Various news organizations have had these documents for months but chose not to publish them because the claims are unsubstantiated. They are coming out now because intelligence officials briefed Trump and Obama about the allegations last week. CNN and Buzzfeed were the first to publish on Tuesday. Mother Jones had published a limited version before the election.

• The decision by intelligence officials to give Trump, President Obama and Republican and Democratic leaders of Congress and the intelligence committees unconfirmed material is very unusual.
