Absolutely!  While I may not have mentioned it here previously, I have said it in other venues many, many times...I believe that far too many of these shootings are the result of fear on the part of the officer involved.  Philando Castile is a perfect example of a situation in which someone died for no other reason than the officer involved was a coward.  Believe me when I say that there are far too many people out there wearing uniforms, badges and guns who do not have the proper temperament to be in law enforcement which is precisely why I chose not to pursue it after I got out of the military.

Having said that, this guy was a known violent felon with a history of shooting at police and the forensic evidence supports the gun recovered as having been his.

P.S. I am actually one of the people who teaches police K9's to catch and bite people (and to find drugs, money, etc.).  Very few police K9 handlers are trainers...most of that is done by civilians.

Agree, Ex.  Cool job you have!  How difficult is training to do?

Dog training is not my primary job...more of a hobby/passion that I sometimes get paid for.  It isn't terribly difficult; you just have to be consistent and be willing to spend some time every day working with your dog(s).  I also keep open one day every weekend to train with my group.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Very cool. I would venture a guess that you also have to love dogs. Is there one breed of a dog you like better than others in K-9 training. I know most departments around here use Belgian Malnois or other Shepherds. I think one officer has a Tuverian (sp.) Shepherd.

I'm a German Shepherd guy...have been for decades.  I think a lot of departments use Mals and Dutchies because they are marginally cheaper.  I like them for their drive but they tend to often be a bit scatter-brained in my experience.  I often tease our group members who have those dogs telling them that my dog left several Malinois puppies in my yard this morning when I had him out for his walk.

Cool, I like German Shepherds also. We had one growing up when I was a kid. Best watchdog ever until some asshole tormented it and it turned on him. My parents had warned the jerk about revving his motorcycle and teasing the dog but jerk continued. One day, the dog was out and heard the guy coming on his motorcycle and he took him out. Guy ran over the dog killing him. We did get one of his pups. A Collie-German Shepherd mix. Another great dog.

Getting paid for you hobby/passion is icing on the cake.  That's a pretty neat hobby to have.  When I was raising my daughter and homeschooling her, I thought about training a service dog.  It never got much farther than that, though!  I think it's a big commitment and I knew I wouldn't be able to do it as we were involved in a co-op (I was co-director and a teacher).

I'm just going to leave this right here.

That's an awesome read.  It applies to so many other aspects of life, politics, etc., other than just being descriptive of Trump supporters.

I was always told do what you love in life as a job and you will always be happy. That applies to cooking, digging a ditch or whatever one chooses in life.

Here's another article on how stupid they are.  Half of them think the election is going to be rigged.

That shit is showing up on my FB newsfeed already.  Posted, of course, by Trump supporters.

Mrs. Sweet, I have dug ditches and I have meet and talked to many men to dug ditches.     The ones who dug them by hand never liked the job.     The only ones that did had a great big back hoe.     :dig:

It is a figure of speech on digging the ditches but mainly do a job that makes you happy, not the one that you regret going to work every day and don't enjoy it.

The  New York Times is reporting that Trump businesses showed a $916 million dollar loss in 1995; likely other people's money that he could have used to write off and avoid paying ANY federal taxes for 2 decades!🙄

My next door neighbor said that he is having a fit that some of his tax returns have been released. I didn't know whether they had been or not.
