The Troll

Remember back in the old days when the men around cities would go out side the city and surround a large field and start walking to the center of it.  As the bunnies came running out they would bop the rabbits on the head with a club.  It was called Bunnie Bopping and it was a sure way to clean the field of all of the rabbits.  I think that is what we should do with ISIS except with a rifle bullet.  Bop the bastards.

I also find it ironic as hell that they claim to be the instrument of God with which He will impose the Apocalypse upon humanity. The climax moment being marked by the near extermination of the Islamic State forces, (reduced to 5,000 by another Islamic Force), only to see the return of Jesus to help them conquer the infidels. Jesus? Really?

Yes, Jesus.  Really.

That's why I want to punch Xtians who say that they're worshiping the "one true god" and that the Muslims worship a "false god."   In fact, when the Xtians pray to their god, they fail to realize that they're praying to the exact same god that Muslims do.  They just call him a different name.

AMEN and AMEN!!

The world would be a far better place without ALL religions; Christianity included.

As PH duly noted, this ISIS shit is just history repeating itself.  Again.

This is a lengthy read, but I took the time this weekend.  It explains ISIS and their ideology in terms of what they're up to, how they view the world, and what they want.

If you take the time to read it, please share your thoughts and we can discuss them here.

Thanks for posting this as it helps me understand ISIS better.  It is a long read, especially for a slow reader like me!  But definitely worth it.

The world would be better, but I don't see that happening in my lifetime or my daughter's lifetime, unfortunately.

I have a friend, with whom I graduated high school, who has served almost her entire career with the United States Department of State.  She is currently serving as First Secretary at the U.S. Embassy to Italy in Rome.  She makes very lengthy FB posts from time to time about her activities, but this one was of particular interest.  It's about the state of things in Paris post terrorism.  I thought I would share.

____________

Just a couple of weeks after the attacks, Kevin and I took the kids for a vacation in Paris. From the reaction of our family and friends, you would think that we were preparing to go into a rebel-held strong hold in a war zone. I am happy to report that the streets of Paris are still filled with the smell of buttery fresh croisants, and lovers still kiss under the Eiffel Tower. While we were there, we got on a crowded bus. In the back were standing a couple of young men who appeared to be recent Nothern African imigrants. They had on hoodies, baseball caps and thin camoflage green jackets. They were the type of people that get looked at with suspicion even during the best of times. I noticed some on the bus eyeing them very uncomfortably. A well-dressed chic Parisian woman had covered the seat beside her with her purse. It was the last seat on the bus. When my 10 year old daughter moved to take the seat, the woman looked at her irritatingly. She put her hand on her bag and returned to looking at her iPhone, making it clear that she wasn't goning to move her purse to allow anyone to sit beside her. My daughter had nothing to hang on to and was struggling to stand as the bus bounced down the road. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed one of young Northern African men, walk down the bus aisle, tap the rude woman gently on the shoulder, smile charmingly at her, and ask very politely for her to move the bag. The woman irritatingly grumbled but picked up her purse. The man then winked at my daughter, gestured to the seat and said "Young madamoiselle, this seat is yours." I've never described the French as being particularly effusive, but all around smiled and clearly applauded the action. The distrust evaporated. Yup...Paris is doing just fine.

Fascinating, and representative of real life and people in general, including US government workers, most of whom work behind the scenes to keep everything working as it should.

Thanks for posting that, Locutus.

Trump says they will. I believe him.

Trump says a lot of stupid things.

QuoteAre you 100% certain they are not?

Yes.  An existential threat to the U.S. is one that threatens the existence of the country.  ISIS may be a minor threat to some people in this country but is by no means a threat to the existence of the country itself.  Isn't now; never will be.

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Isn't now........I agree with....

But, if they are not contained, they could be an existential threat.....at least that is their intent.  BTW, killing someone ISN'T a minor threat.....and they HAVE killed innocent Americans. They can and will strike again.

No, that is absolutely not their intent.  Go read that article that I posted in the ISIS thread a few months ago as Exterminator suggested.  You obviously haven't as of yet or you'd know better.  :roll eyes:

The only existential threat threat I see today, are running for the office of POTUS. Not all of them, but most. . .And some secondary existential threats are serving members of congress.
