Celebrate our Native American heritage during two days of non-stop family fun. Shop the Indian Market for fine art, cultural items, jewelry and more. Listen to the stories of long ago as storytellers share traditions, customs and family life. Feel the heartbeat of the drums as the dancers parade into the arena to the songs of long ago. Sample a variety of Native American foods like fry bread, buffalo and sassafras tea. The Andersontown Powwow has something for everyone!

Gates open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Wish I lived close enough to attend!  I would definitely eat some of that fry bread!

I go for the sassafras tea too, I love it. Probably won't be getting the buffalo burgers since we've been doing them at home though. Got some leather at the one in Lebanon last month and SIL made hubby a real nice sleeve for his 22.

Remember, sassafras is a known carcinogen - though low level.

It has grown a lot over the years and I like it almost as much as the one in Lebanon. The father of a friend of ours is a singer at both places and sometimes does the drums.

I didn't go by there this year, but we stopped going because it had dwindled to not much of anything.  At one time it was spread all along the Riverwalk and Edgewater Park with enactments and lots of things to see and do.  We quit going after it had diminished to barely a block along the Riverwalk.  I've seen where they do it now over at the old Athletic Park like the old Free Fair.

Yep and it has grown over the years and is a Pow Wow rather than a rondevous now. It still isn't as big as Tipton's or the one in Lebanon but it's getting there. Brandy Beamer's dad is one of the singers and sometimes does drums.
