I got a RV trailer up by Salamonie Res., the lake is now up to 27ft above pool stage.  My thinking this is the highest I have seen in the last 20 years.   :titanic:   No fishing :fish: No skiing, there is too many logs and wood in the lake.

The lake is now at 32 1/2 ft above pool stage and the DNR is not letting any boats on it, because of the floating logs and wood.  If the DNR let them on it there would nuts pulling water skiers and tubers on it.  :haha:

Stormy Night Predicted; Make Sure Alerts Will Wake You

Indiana is bracing for another round of severe weather that could bring strong storms and flooding to parts of northern and central Indiana late Wednesday night and into the overnight hours.

The National Weather Service has reported that parts of western and northwestern Indiana face an enhanced risk for severe weather, and that there is a slight risk for parts of northern and central Indiana. The main threats with these storms will be damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, isolated tornadoes and flash flooding.

Some of these severe storms may occur overnight during normal sleeping hours. As such, it is important to take precautions in advance of severe weather, in the event that immediate action is needed.

· Consider turning up the volume on cell phone notifications. Be familiar with the notification settings of weather apps.
· In case of a power outage, charge all electronic devices fully before going to bed.
· If devices such as phones and laptops are charging overnight, be sure they are plugged into a surge protector.

Have an all-hazards weather radio near the bed or sleeping area. Keep the weather radio turned on at a volume loud enough that alerts can be heard while sleeping. Overnight alerts could provide important details about severe weather, with safety precautions to follow.

What would an alarm do for most people living here.     Especially at night.  Living in a wood house, no basement, no place to hide and can't see it coming.   :sos: :sos: :sos:

With the technology that has progressed since our "early warning" weather systems were first established, significant early warning is achievable that would allow families to implement their disaster plans in enough time to save lives.

You don't HAVE to have a basement in order to survive a tornado, and a basement will do you absolutely no good in a flash flood situation.

Getting within an enclosed room, in the center of the house, and hopefully within or under a stairwell, can provide significant protection in a tornadic event. Some folks have storm shelters on their property just for such purposes, and early warnings provide a window of time to get into it before the tornado arrives.

In flash floods, it can allow families to get to higher ground, either within their homes or elsewhere, by providing enough warning to allow people to get situated. It can provide enough warning to allow households to deploy sandbags too.

Early warnings save lives, and THAT is the purpose.  Some of us cannot hear the tornado sirens over the din of fans and air conditioning units, so a weather alert radio properly located within the home can provide timely information in a format designed to ensure it awakens you from your slumber in time to act.
