And the Jambalaya is on and cooking in the crock pot. Should be done around 4:30 allowing for the preparation of the rice.

Indeed I did! It was exceptional this time. I cut up the chicken the night before and put it into a gallon sized ziplock in the fridge. I seasoned it well before placing it into the fridge and let it marinate overnight. VERY tasty as a result.

Wife had thirds and took some for her lunch today at work.  :smitten:

Trying two new recipes tonight.  Butterflake Herb Loaf and CopyCat Panera Bread Broccoli Cheese Soup.  I'm a little concerned about the bread as it doesn't seem to be rising the way it should.  It'll be about another hour till it's ready, hope it comes out all right!

 Today for lunch I had Panera's broccoli cheddar soup. I usually go there once a week, mostly on Saturdays. Although I make a lot of different soups, I've never tried making that one. Let me know how yours turns out.

It was good, but not quite Panera's.  I have to figure out what seasonings to tweak.

Bread was delicious!  There's yummy garlic butter between the slices that was spread onto the slices before baking.

I'm not familiar with Butterflake Herb Loaf. Will see if I can find it. Where do you buy it?

Palehorse

Sam's Club sells Panera Broch n cheddar soup and it is killer. Shrimp chowder is pretty darned good as well.

While I'd love to make both myself, the results are never quite worth the effort; so I just buy the stuff and enjoy it immensely!

That bread looks awesome; of course anything with garlic IS awesome!  8)

I didn't buy it, I made it from scratch.

The bread was more of pain to make than the soup. Although I did use my Kitchen Aide mixer to knead the dough.   I like making copy cat recipes. Some are spot on, others, eh.  The soup was ok, still needs some tweaking.  I never had their shrimp chowder.  Sounds yummy!  One of the best, so far, copycat recipes I made is for Buffalo Wild Wings Asian Zing wing sauce.  It makes a big batch, so it's worth the effort and cheaper than buying a bottle from BWW!  ;D

I need a copycat recipe for the Caribbean Jerk sauce.  That's my favorite from BWW.

Today for dinner I had Legal Sea Foods King Crab with Sweet Corn Chowder, and it was  so delicious. It was a bit different from what I remembered --  thicker, more crab, added carrots, more garlic (yum) and some hot pepper. Just right. I gobbled it down and by the time I finished my nose was running and my eyes watering!
