Roast and 'taters w/celery, carrots, and onions  w/a nice brown gravy cooked in the oven all afternoon in my cast iron kettle.  One of those one pot wonders 'cause I can brown the meat and make the gravy in the same pot I cook it in.    I love my cast iron.

  I do all of my roasting in a cast iron pot.  I've got a newer on that has a tight fitting glass lid.  It is sure nice for one pot roasting.  For frying chicken you can't beat a cast iron skillet.  Love them.

All of my cast iron is older she gave them to me years ago when she broke up house keeping and no longer used them except for a smaller skillet which she kept.   I acquired a huge campfire skillet at a yard sale and no longer use it but am not about to let it go.

  I got one 14 inch cast iron two handle one.  It's so heavy that it takes the two handles to lift.  I cook fried chicken for around 10 people in it.  I got it well seasoned.   Fried chicken.

We may not agree on some things but I sure think we could get along in the kitchen.
