A toasted cucumber and tomato sandwich, with a sundried tomato, basil, and garlic spread. Yum.

I notice there alot of healthy eaters on here.  Alot of vegetable consumers. I'm a junkfood junkie.  I do eat some vegetables, but very little fruit. I don't know if this is a Midwesterner thing or what. Here in Illinois we eat alot of beef. And again for dinner. It was raining and ruined my cookout. The boys were having burgers, I was having Boca burgers. Tomorrow a friend of Aaron's from Dayton is stopping over while in Indy and I'm making them "sausage" stuffed green peppers on the grill. I can make the "meat" crumbles taste like Italian sausage, then some tomato, and finally crushed red pepper and a little mozzarella. Tim's bringing the wine.

I love to cook.

Dexter, it probably is a midwestern thing. I used to eat more like you, but I became a vegetarian recently, but have been cooking with veggies for a couple years now, just because I have a fascination with chopping veggies...

Dex for me it's always been about freshness. When I lived on the East coast a lot of veggies were seasonal. So, not as fresh.  l love a farmer's market or a fruit/veggie stand. I could spend my whole paycheck there I think.

I'm originally from southern WV and grew up learning how to cook things saturated in so much fat that, although delicious, was a heart attack waiting to happen. As a self-respecting southern woman I still think I have THE best fried chicken.

I'm not a vegetarian (yet) like Daisy, but I enjoy trying to take some of the old favorites and modifying them so that they're both tasty and healthy. It's a cooking challenge that's good for us.

I LOVE farmers markets, side of the road stands....Finding one during a weekend country drive (usually with our snow cones) is like the heavens parting and shining a light down on my head. Ahhhh .... love  :smitten:

i just eat weird.  i have no health excuses.  i just dont really like meat much, unless it is a believe it or not--a hot dog.  i get a lot of teasing about that.  i dont like food to touch, i eat one thing at a time, i dont like bread, or most dough.  l like meatballs if my mother makes them.  end of meat choices.   pretty much leaves out everything but veggies and fruits.
