We got SLAMMED last night!
Sorry to hear that. It was scary over here in Virginia, but not as bad as I had feared. I was listening to Topper Shutt telling us to seek cover during tornado warnings, so knew when it was approaching. We got some wind, plus heavy rain with small hail and thunder and lightening, and a lot of people lost power, but otherwise no bad damage locally that I know of, but a different story in the Richmond area, where 3 people were killed.

Any damage?

Not to my house, but the stream in my back yard nearly flooded up into the yard. And there were trees down everywhere this morning. Southern Maryland took a huge hit, but I haven't seen the damage reports yet. There were reports of tornadoes on the ground in St. Mary's County and Calvert County. Those are two counties next to where I live.

On my drive home last night, I ran into one rainstorm that looked like a wall of water.

Freaky weather for February. Tornado warnings all over the area! I don't ever recall tornadoes in this area in February.

The last of the high piles of dirty snow from the big snow are just about gone, and it feels like summer here -- shirtsleeve weather yesterday and the same expected today.

It has been warm here also but we are getting saturated with rain.

Well, here it is Sunday night, and I can hear the rain on the roof,  so good night all. I'm going to bed.

It was supposed to rain here today, but never did.  G'night Libby!

Rained all day here, and possible rain tomorrow (Monday) with a high of only 48.  At least it isn't snow and 32!

Camp swampy out this way today (DSTMonday). My grass squishes with every step. . . More tomorrow. . .

My grass is growing already and needs mowing. . . already. . . But that won't happen until the weekend best case; and likely not then because guess what it is supposed to do all weekend. . . That's right . . . rain!

On the plus side though, the daffodils are up; and they've brought along some friends too!  :flower3: :kick can:

(Looks like taxes will be worked on this weekend. . .)

I'm really restless and would like nothing better than to get out and walk or work in my yard, but it's cold and very windy -- right now sunny -- but this morning it was snowing! Big fluffy flakes drifting down. Now we face a very windy evening and night. But, seems we have it fairly easy here so far -- the folks across the Potomac River in Maryland apparently got a lot more snow.

How much did you get, Libby?  I didn't measure, but the news reports about 2-3 inches around where I live (PA), some areas measuring up to 5 inches.  Best thing about spring snow is it melts quickly and the roads are clear.  I'm looking forward to the weather staying  warm; I miss my 4 mile walks after work.

Very little of the snow stuck --  it was pretty, but I needed to go out so was glad.

You walk 4 miles? Some days I guess I may get close (cumulative) , but my routine walks are no more than a mile. I've walked all my life. Had to most of the time when I was growing up, but also for the pleasure of it. To go to school we had to walk (or run) downhill on the unpaved road where we lived to get to the school bus -- maybe half a mile.  I still have a scar or two on my knees from going airborne while running.

There's a nature center nearby that I go to.  It has a 3.1 mile loop and some side trails.  I take one side trail and end up with 4 miles.  It's a great workout since 1.5 miles is all hills.  Supposed to get warmer this week (60's!) so I'm looking forward to it.
