I'd like to use this space to post things of interest in Virginia.

Great idea!

We're unique. I live in Northern Virginia, close to National Airport, the Pentagon, White House, etc.  Richmond, the Capital, is about 100 miles to the south, and the state of Maryland not all that far to the north and east. And farther east, the ocean. To the west, the mountains. It's about a 6 hour drive for me, heading southwest, to go back "home." Home to me was/is Bluefield, the southernmost tip of West Virginia. Go a few miles from downtown Bluefield heading west and you're in Bluefield, Virginia.

Yep, swimming at Norfolk is just wonderful.  Crowds, cold water and tar balls.      :shrk:

I wasn't but got the chance to chaperone a NJROTC group from a high school who went on an end of the year field trip.
