I agree with that, but then I wonder about the people I see around me who are content to just go on as they are with no desire to learn or enrich themselves in any way. Worse yet, I see many who reject learning.

What irritates me are those that expect a hand out or feel  they are entitled to something? I call it get off your lazy ass and work!

Having a desire to learn, leads to a higher intellect and that is a double-edged sword. While it's so empowering to learn and grow, it's also disheartening to be able to see those who are content with ignorance. Actually, at times it's infuriating because they don't even rise to the occasion when it's critical.

Then there is; "Ignorance is bliss".

I personally do not ascribe to such an outlook, but I suppose there are those who prefer it. They are typically the ones I have in a conference room talking to them about their performance challenges. . .

Indeed. And my philosophy has always been that learning is a life-long endeavor; and once you stop learning you expire.

Exactly, it's just a matter of being open to new ideas, experiences, and information.

I like to look at life as an adventure and you only enjoy it as much as you let yourself.
