That won't save your house from being destroyed.

That's true, but it will save me from getting killed.

That's a distinct advantage!

I wonder what the safest states are? hmm Maybe I should research that .

Utah has had the fewest natural disasters since 2000. (Photo: Jupiterimages/Comstock/Getty Images)
Utah is the 12th-largest state and has had only two natural disasters since the year 2000, making it the safest state in the Union. Although Utah has a varied climate, it is largely considered a desert. Its natural disasters include severe storms and flooding. While avalanches are not declared as disasters, they do occur in Utah with some frequency.

So I guess we all move to Utah.

Locutus

Actually, the Appalachian Mountain area is pretty immune from natural disasters too, save an occasional flooding incident.

If you move to Utah, you have to put up with the Mormons.   ;D

I'm moving to New Mexico. No Tornadoes, no Hurricanes; the ground may move around once in awhile but hey, it does that here too!

And I can go to Red River and see all the snow I want!  :smitten:

That should keep me busy, since I won't be dodging tornadoes or hurricanes.

 I'll take the Appalachians. I love those mountains. As a girl I used to spend a lot of time in the summer climbing the hill that was at the back of our house. Couldn't see the sky from the kitchen windows - just the hill and trees.  Like most hillbillies, one of my legs is shorter than the other.   :treehug:

Meeeee, too! Our oldest graduated from Appalachian State in Boone, NC this year and it was a bittersweet day (for several reasons) -- but, we loved our family weekends in the mountains!

For anyone who remembers kiminnc, this is also where she settled down and started a family with her husband. Their daughter just recently turned 2, I believe.

Kimmi is in Boone these days?

 The last I knew she was...

That's pretty area, and quite a ways away from where she was living if I recall correctly.
