A  few sure signs that this economic depression has begun taking it's toll are an increase in robberies, and suicides.

Surrounding suicides, society has placed no small measure of emphasis upon the suicide rate among adolescents, but a study recently released by the CDC places a glaring light upon a fact that we last saw during the last great depression:

. . .Between 1999 and 2010, suicides in the 35-to-64 age group increased 28.4%, according to the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. Suicides among people aged 50 to 59 years old specifically almost doubled during that time period.

More than 38,000 Americans killed themselves in 2010; that's more than double those who were killed in a homicide that same year, according to the CDC. In 2009, the number of deaths from suicide in the United States surpassed the number of deaths from motor vehicle crashes for the first time. . .

Certainly the personal financial disasters endured by the 50-59 year old age group, coupled with the inability to obtain gainful employment due to rampant, and illegal although next to impossible to prove, age discrimination being exercised by the employers of this nation, are key root causes for this shameful and altogether unacceptable rise in self termination. . .

And as this is allowed to perpetuate unabated, this age group will see an even greater and steady rise in deaths among this age group.

  One of the reasons for all of the suicides I think is the lack of socialized medicine.  I was sitting in the doctor's office for a bad shoulder pain.  Sitting with my Medicare and my Blue Cross supplemental insurance and thinking just were I would I be without this insurance.  It would be totally depressing.  No medical care and no hope with medical care and mental care. 

  The suicides will increase if the Republican Party gets its way of destroying the safety nets of the American People.  Just think America is the only country in the educated world that doesn't has socialize medicine.  The Republicans think if you don't have any money and you become sick medically or mentally just die and get out of the way, just dig your own hole, cover up yourself and die. 

  Also as the American public becomes less Christian less religious more atheistic no belief in the great sky daddy, suicide doesn't have that horreable stigma.  Commit suicide and go straight to hell, because the loving god wants you to die as painfully as you can.    Let us pray.
