Now exactly how would a flat tax benefit the rich?  They buy more expensive things and would, therefore, pay more taxes than the middle class and below.  It would generate more income in the long run.

If you had listened to the things I and others have previously explained to you about different types of taxes, you would not be asking such an ignorant question...again.

The lower classes have less expendable income that isn't eaten up by living expenses and therefore cannot afford those type of taxes.  It's the economic concept behind progressive taxation.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa

But they would have more disposable income because there would be no income tax.  Even at 1% it would generate enough income from the rich without really hurting the lower income.  I do feel, however, that food and medicine should remain untaxed with the exception of the fancier foods only rich people purchase and middle and lower income seldom or never purchase.  Also no tax on WIC,
EBT cash, or food items if food is taxed.

If you actually believe that theory, then why were / are you squalling over the increase in taxation of those making 250k and up?

It hurts small businesses at the 250k rate more than it hurts large corporations.

Ya, you're right.  Why do they need any of that money to reinvest or expand when they could give it all, or half of it, to the government?
