I don't care what he said or what "facts" he presented. This country seems to be going crazy. Let everybody carry a gun! Or own multiple guns, including assault weapons.

Nobody can persuade me that "guns don't kill people; people do"  is justification for everybody getting access to as many guns as they please.

There's no common sense when it comes to dealing with 'gun nuts'.  They feed on fear, breathe conspiracy, and live on a false patriotism.  They create self-fulfilling feeding frenzies where all scenarios mean they must have more weapons and ammunition.  If it's not the government conspiring against them where they are the patriots who will defeat .gov and take back the country, then it's the criminals/nuts with guns who surround them and from whom they must protect themselves.

The insanity of the conspiracy theorists promotes the idea that if the government decided to move against them they would prevail and save the country.  Utterly ridiculous all over.  They would lose, hands down and that's all there is to it.  Besides, unless there arises an open rebellion, there are far more expedient methods available to government than use of the military...just look how business has used government and they haven't needed to fire a single shot.

As far as the criminals/nuts with guns that they fear, the gun nuts don't even see that their insistence on more and more powerful weapons with more capacity and more lethal firepower only feeds their fear because the criminals/nuts will have the same.

The gun nuts entire argument is ridiculous anyway.  Unless one subscribes that there is absolutely no limit to weaponry civilians may own - which would include nuclear and biological agents - then there is a limit to be determined for the safety of society.

Therefore, the obvious would be to limit civilians to owning firearms for hunting, sport, and self-defense, and limiting the firepower and ammunition capacity.  None of those things require military style, semi-auto, high range, high capacity weapons, and large arsenals of weapons - and eliminating them would also eliminate the mass shootings this country has become all too familiar with.
