Chicago police will no longer respond to every 911 call.  I thought Chicago was a liberals/socialist, utopia?  The have the strictest gun laws in the country. Why could all this be?

Maybe because you want to see it that way; or perhaps because you are baiting?

Got any proof to back up this outlandish statement?

Starting this week, Chicago police are changing their responses to 911 calls. They'll no longer come right away to reports of things like criminal damage to property, vehicle thefts, garage burglaries, or other crimes in which the suspect is no longer on the scene, and the victim isn't in immediate danger.

The move will free up the equivalent of 44 police officers a day for patrol duties. . .

They are conducting the equivalent of triage on all 911 calls. So what?

I really do admire the patience of some of you guys who will take the time to explain all this to those who don't care.

They express no original thought, they just find anyone anywhere who will say anything that is critical of the administration and quote it.

Perfect Homer Simpson mentality.

A tiring repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

I just like to to see you all explain as the liberal cities fall apart, as to why your grand plans do not work.

You are a fine one to talk about original thought.  All you do is demean anything  or any one who posts anything opposed to your bankrupt ideas.

If you had a cogent thought, there would be a point to attempting to discuss it with you, but you are didactic; ergo, discussion is pointless.

Another point being is that other cities have already employed similar measures anyway.  The only reason this is an issue now, is because it's being done in Obama's hometown, so there's a reason to make some bitch about it.

They're just not giving an immediate response to calls to the 911 system that aren't emergent in nature.

I normally hate to agree with anything, Politically, by my counterparts here on the zone...

But, I think some are trying to make MORE out of this story than what it really is.

I think Chicago is a "f"d up city.  I am a die-hard Bears and Cubs fan.  I hate that the City SUCKS though.  It is FULL of crime and the traffic almost ALWAYS sucks.  I think they are in the midst of hiring MORE police to fight this gang battle that is growing.  I would love to see some leadership as Giuliani did in NY City a few years ago, when he cleaned up that city.  I don't believe Emanual is that guy.
