What a busy holiday season we have had.  It started out with the wife and I adopting Bella, our wonderful mixed breed puppy.  She is doing well and growing bigger everyday.  Our oldest son drove in from Edwards AFB in California a few days later for 30 days well deserve leave.  He didn't make it home last year due to him being reassigned to Edwards right before Christmas, so he was glad to be back in Indiana again.  He and Bella hit it off quite well.  She filled a large gap left by Greg's late dog Mac.  If only she knew how important that was to all of us.

After Greg got settled in for his visit Christmas came and went with both boys in the house.  It was just like old times, even with me going for the Tylenol later in the day.  Love 'em both, but it can get a little intense sometimes.

Greg did enjoy the snow, every damn bit of it to be exact, and so did Bella.  I ended up buying a new set of tires for the truck between Christmas and New Year's, so I got to enjoy it some too.   Later on after the first of the year, Greg, Melody and I took a little ride up to Purdue to see about Greg going to college.  He is now planning on getting out of the Air Force next fall, and coming home to go to school.  He has had enough of the Air Force and is ready to move on with the next part his life.

So after a month of spending lots of time with him, part of that with with both boys, and even having Melody home for 9 days in the middle of it all, I have the house to myself and the pets for the first time in a month.  Sure is quiet and peaceful.

It's always nice to have the whole family together but, like you said, it's nice to get the peace and quiet back too.  Glad you had such a good time.
