I've never understood the sense of putting nuclear reactors on fault lines.

Me neither. I know they need water but locating them on the shoreline near an ocean seems to be begging for a nuclear incident.

Cali has the very same situation though.

An incident at one of those could potentially spread fallout across the mid-section of this country.  :spooked:

We Pennsylvanians don't put our plants on a fault line.   ;)  We prefer to cause nuclear accidents because of mechanical and operator failure.

Yep.  Three Mile Island!  Not far from where I live.  TMI had the partial meltdown when I was a kid.  My parents sent my older brother and I to my aunt and uncle's home about 30 miles away and over the mountain.  I remember sitting in school and seeing parents come in and pull their children out. My parents waited until we got home and then drove us to my aunt's place.  Mom and dad were worried about looters and decided to stay at the house and planned to get out if it was going to get worse.  I never realized how serious the situation was until I was older; my parents wouldn't tell us much so we wouldn't worry.

The covert preparations being made within government would have given most of the public the drizzles if they had known. . .

Can you give examples? Or if, like my son would tell me when I asked a 'sensitive' question, I could tell you but then I would have to kill you. 😊 PH, I am just curious, not challenging your statement.

No can do. The oath doesn't stop once you leave Uncle Sam's employ. . .  :(

There's a lot of truth to that saying your son uses. . .

I was in the area one time and took the following pictures.  Here is the Number 2 reactor and the eerie cooling towers which are no longer in use.
