No problem, I thought one of the new sources had got it wrong. You know how they are. Our local news actually got his age right and USA Today had it at 96.

When I saw an astronaut was :reap: HARVESTED :reap: I thought Buzz Aldrin's Antarctica foray proved fatal.  He's still hospitalized as far as I've heard.

I just read where he is doing fine and being released from a hospital in New Zealand.

Ironically, Buzz's issues were brought on by altitude sickness!  :spooked: :icon_twisted:

Yup. That place is no bueno for the horse! I suffer from altitude sickness at elevations above 10-11k. BAD. Takes me about 4-7 days to acclimate and until I do I am a useless bag o bones. Even taking aspirin.

One good thing though is I get blasted on 1 beer or shot above 11k!

I had the privilege to go on a business trip a few years ago in Banff.....we got to dine at this restaurant that you had to take a gondola 3,000' up to it....and Banff itself was already a little over 5,000'.....we had a few beers and the restroom was on the 2nd floor.......I tried to run up the stairs and nearly passed out!!  Between the beer and the altitude....my head wanted NOTHING to do with it!
But it was an AMAZING view!!!

Why did they pick Banff as opposed to the larger city of Calgary which is close by there?

Take one look at Banff and you know why...Our host had his choice, who is from Canada, had his choice of about 5 locations....he picked Banff and we were grateful!
My company belongs to a group that has about 30 other companies, that are like us, but we don't compete.  We meet twice a year, to share "Best Practices", exchange ideas, work on national roll-outs, and build comradery...each company takes turns in hosting.  A great group of guys that I look forward to every spring and fall.
