Indiana - "The Big Cat State"

Dangerous wild animals are coming into Indiana now that other states have tougher laws governing them.

Two tigers are now at the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion, near Fort Wayne. They came from Ohio, where the previous owner could no longer keep them. Ohio passed new laws after a suicidal Ohio man released dozens of exotic animals last year.. . .

. . .Two-hundred twenty-eight cats are at the Clay County facility, most which were seized by law enforcement from irresponsible owners.

SO what do you think? Should Indiana be like everybody else and beef up laws pertaining to wild exotic species, or shall we become their haven in this land?

That same shit is happening down here in Florida too.  People are all too willing to house and care for exotic animals until they become too large to care for anymore.  Then they turn them loose wherever they can and they start procreating.

I don't think people need them as pets if that's what you're meaning.  I have no clue why anyone would want an animal that is as dangerous as some of the exotic animals are and that would include snakes.  I didn't realize Indiana didn't have any laws pertaining to exotic animals so, yes, I think we should beef up the laws if there are any or put some in place if not and no, we should not become a haven for them.

Here in Florida, we have exotic fish, pythons, boa constrictors, a whole host of assorted lizards, and a lot of other species that aren't native.  They're all running around on the loose because of assholes bringing them into the state as pets, and then dumping them in the wild when they no longer want them.

Mountain Lions are making a comeback in urban settings already, so it's just a matter of time before African Lions and Tigers begin populating this nations urban areas over escapes and releases by private owners.

If you're outside with the pooch and hear a growl or snarl, you better have a heavy weapon close at hand or you could be dinner; while pooch serves as the appetizer.

The idea of non-native specie being allowed as 'pets' has to be one of the stupidest ideas ever allowed.  We should be smart enough to know this would never work out.

  It is something to think about.  You could be swimming in a fresh water lake in Florida and be swimming with a school of Piranha meat eating fish.       WOW!
