Wi-Fi Symbol on Your Credit Card - Beware !!!

Don't know how many of you may have seen this when it was broadcast on WTHR news but it is well worth watching if you missed it and aren't aware of this type of credit card.  A friend of mine sent this to me in an email but it isn't a joke.

YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING. WATCH VIDEO AND CHECK YOUR CARDS.
Check your newer credit cards for the Wi-Fi Symbol on it. You need to watch the video below to really know why I sent this to you.

Notice how close that reporter's RFID reader was to the card when the information was lifted.  Although it is an obvious risk, someone would have to position an RFID reader close to your card (probably within a couple of inches) to get a read.

How hard would that be in a crowded situation at a concert or huge gathering though?  Pick pockets have to actually touch you so lifting credit card info would be a piece of cake compared to that.

Oh I never denied it's a risk.  I was thinking more along the lines of waiting at a gate at the airport or on a crowded subway.   All I was pointing out is that the thief and his device have to be pretty close to you (within inches) to get the info.

I did check mine even thought it rarely ever leaves the house and our bank card doesn't have it either so I'm all good thru 2015 when they expire.

None of mine have the symbol either.
