At the polls, you will be asked to provide a valid picture identification with signature. The following photo ids will be accepted:

  • Florida driver's license
  • Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
  • United States passport
  • Debit or credit card
  • Military identification
  • Student identification
  • Retirement center identification
  • Neighborhood association identification
  • Public assistance identification.
If your photo identification does not contain your signature, you will be asked to provide an additional identification that includes a signature.
If you do not have the proper identification, you will be provided with a provisional ballot. Your provisional ballot will count if the signature on the provisional ballot envelope matches the signature on your voter registration application

How much are they and how long are they good for?

They are $25.00 and are good for four years.

Also are ID's required for most things, welfare, food stamps, banking, library card, alcohol and cigarettes, there too?

Can't speak to welfare and food stamps; I don't receive either.  They stopped carding me for alcohol a long time ago.  ;D   Yes for banking, no for library card (at least not in Broward county where I live).

Yes, the above is correct because Florida has already passed a voter ID law.  Your point?

I don't think that is too much to ask, to assure a little integrity of one of the most sacred events US Citizens have the priviledge to do.

I am correct that Florida it is only requested and not required, to have a photo ID?

I'm not sure what's going to be required going forward as there are challenges to the Florida voter ID law as well.   I'm even seeing some websites reporting that the Florida law fell right along with the Texas law, but I'm having a hard time confirming that.

The only reason the Hawk and "ME" wants a voter ID is they got one and they want to stifle the vote.  They are not for freedom, but if they can stop the people of color from voting they can win every election.  :trustme:

Some people have no concept of what the term "dirt poor"means; despite the fact that those finding themselves in such a condition are increasing in number every day.

If someone is "dirt poor" they aren't going to have a TV so in all probability aren't going to vote anyway because they won't know anything about the candidates and will have no way to the polls.  If they have a TV and are poor they are getting assistance and an ID is needed for that so this outcry from the left is all a bunch of BS.

Kind of like the voter fraud BS being bandied about by the right?

Then you shouldn't have any problem pointing out specific examples of such so that we can discuss them.

I can see why the courts stopped the Voter ID program in Texas.  Just look how they run their schools.   :jc:

Only problem with that is it's mostly democratic and I know how that would go over no matter what kind of evidence I posted so I'm not going to bother.  Now you can take that anyway you wish, and I know how you'll take it, but that's the reality of it and why they don't want voter ID.  It stacks the odds on their side because of the likely hood of illegals being able to vote since they don't have to have an ID.  Has nothing to do with the blacks that's a smoke screen and no, I didn't hear that on Fox.

Hey guys, when you where a kid and in your neighborhood there was that old crazy woman who would run out and get your ball that went in to her yard and keeping it.  Banging on her window if she thought you were going to step on her grass.   The old woman to would call the town cop about the kids playing ball in the street making to much noise.  An old woman who was the witch of the neighborhood.  The old woman who died and no one when to her funeral.

Well, we got one here on the Zone.  That old Nagy, crabby , nasty old woman is "ME".  Well, life is a bitch and we have to live with one.  :haha:
