Yes, I heard Perot say that statement on television.  I was so sick when George H. Bush dreamed up the NAFTA.  When he got the President of Mexico and the Prime Minster Canada to agree to that one sided, unfair "Free Trade Treaty" NAFTA.  The only people who made out on this fair trade treaty was the super rich, corporations, Mitt Romney, Mexico and Canada.  Then George W. Bush passed WTO.  The American middle class and the worker of America were hurt beyond belief.  We are in the shape we are because the Republican Party and its cooperation with the rich and the corporations.

But that little man with the big ears said it all. "If they sign that NAFTA agreement, you will hear a giant suck sound of jobs leaving America for Mexico".

I never thought American could go down so far and so fast as in 8 years of George W. Bush.  But after much research, this all started with Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich's Contract For America.  People should read Newt's Contract for America and you will see how it has come true under the actions of the Republican Party.

America will never recover from George H. Bush and sonny boy George W's unfair, fast track free trade treaties are voided.  As trade should be continued, new trade treaties should be negotiated by the American Union leaders.  You have seen how the Republican negotiators failed at getting a fair and honest deal for America and it people.

Why did the Republicans get so many bad trade deals?  Because they are in the pocket of the rich and the corporations.  You see it today and every day.  Billionaires putting in Millions and Millions of dollars in the Republican election coffers.  The old Republican golden rule.  He who has the gold rules.

Just for the record:

With much consideration and emotional discussion, the House of Representatives approved NAFTA on November 17, 1993, 234-200. The agreement's supporters included 132 Republicans and 102 Democrats. NAFTA passed the Senate 61-38. Senate supporters were 34 Republicans and 27 Democrats. Clinton signed it into law on December 8, 1993; it went into effect on January 1, 1994. Clinton while signing the NAFTA bill stated that "NAFTA means jobs. American jobs, and good-paying American jobs. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't support this agreement."

You bring out Clinton, as I have said for years.  Bill Clinton is the best president the Republican ever had.  When George H. and the Republican Party ( The Rich Party) he knew he could get the bill passed.  He had it sitting there for the One World, Rhodes Scholar to bring up the bill, which got passed.

Tell me Henry Hawk do you think the NAFTA, WTO and all of the fast track trade treaties that George W. got through was good for the country.  Henry do you have the balls to answer that question?  ????????????????

I amazing how you can bring up all of this shit, trying to prove this, NAFTA wasn't a Republican plan to screw the American worker.  Nice try.  :haha:  :jester:

Perot talks about the giant sucking sound.

You know I did notice one thing which I probably shouldn't admit to but I have to.  Clinton looked, until the last part, like he was listening and learning from what Perot was saying and most of the time Bush had a smirk on his face, Clinton did at the last too.  Now it may not have been a smirk on either of their faces and they didn't show Bush's face at quite the same angle but be honest since I am and tell me if any of you thought the same.  Hearing that again makes me wish he were still around and young enough to run.

I don't think Clinton got a smirk on his face until he made the comments about the giant sucking sound.

That was about the time I noticed too.  I also wonder if that look is a learning/listening look or a "boy is this guy nuts" look.

Clinton smirked at "the giant sucking sound" and the Shrub couldn't stop smirking.

The sad part is he was telling the truth and they both damned well knew it. They just believed, wrongly, that corporate Amerika would not easily leave these shores for distant ones; or at best knew they'd both be history before such a thing transpired.

That giant sucking sound is probably why I cannot sleep very well anymore!  :icon_evil:

Yes, he was telling the truth.  Unfortunately neither man had the good sense to listen to him.  Either that or they knew and didn't care.

The lobbyist lurking :lurker: over the backs of Bill and George H. told them to sign NAFTA.  When you listen to the Super Rich boys and you see what we get.  More money for them and poverty for us.
