Back in my Hardware days, it was a rule of thumb NOT to fertilize until AFTER you mowed the lawn for the first time....but, that was back in the early 80's and things may have changed.

I just wonder. I at least want to get crabgrass preventer/killer down now. I am already seeing growth of that crap!
