I downloaded a coloring book for my Kindle.

Does anybody know how to remove crayon marks from a Kindle screen?

Olias, being an avid reader, how do you like the Kindle? And because you are tech savvy I'm assuming you compared it to the Nook, why did the Kindle win out?

I've been debating both. I was dead set against the idea, support your local libraries, used book stores and all that, but also because I like the feel of the book in my hand. Google has had free classics online forever and I still grab them at the library. Anyway, I'm giving in. ;D I read so much between work and home that I think I can get one and still support the other sources. I'm just on the fence about which one/color or not.

Can you also load work related materials?

Sandy, I'm very sorry, and I didn't mean to fool anyone, but I posted that as a joke.

I don't own an eReader. Never will if I can help it. Yes, I am tech savvy, but a part of me holds on to those old fashioned ways. Besides, can you imagine reading the Washington Post in the bathroom on one of those things.

No ... reading is a moment to relax and not worry about those gizmos. To be able to pause, stop, reflect, jump back, skip around, skim ....... I'm afraid an eReader doesn't fit my lifestyle.

Sandy, I realize the question wasn't directed at me, but I have a kindle and love it. I asked several people who had them or the nook how they liked them. Everyone who had either liked them but two people who had changed from a nook to the kindle thought they were easier to read and had a better selection of reading material. That was why I chose the kindle. Istikk like the feel of a book but the kindle is much lighter to carry or hold and is nice if you are usually reading more than one book at a time. I did not get the 3G model so I need to be at a hot spot to download books but we are wireless at home so that has not been an issue. You can load documents on the kindle, don't know about the noon. I haven't tried to do that so can't sat how well it works.

Won't buy a kindle or other electronic book.

I know it makes no sense, and the future belongs to the electronics, but I use too many batteries now.

I can't shake the feel of a good book in my hands. Once the book is printed, it is good to be read hundreds of times without a drain on energy. The trees sacrificed to print it are renewable.

Call me stubborn, intractable, old fashioned, illogical, stupid, or whatever else comes to mind, but I won't have one.

Don't forget the smell. :) Maybe it's nuts or something other people don't notice, but I love the way the paper/ink smell. Especially an old book. One of my favorite places is an old dusty used book store.

That's okay, had I read a bit more, I would have caught on. ;D

I guess what's making me consider it, is the convenience thing. A kindle/nook does for reading what the smart phone does for internet surfing. It just makes it easier to stuff the "story" into your purse/pocket and take off.

Maybe it's the cozy factor that also makes me hesitant. I can't imagine getting cozy on the couch w/a flat screen. ;D

That's good info Anne and if i decide to go that route, I'll keep that in mind. Plus isn't "Nook" Barnes and Noble? If they're stuggling in business, I'm not sure I'd want one.

One of the other reasons that I'm actually considering it, is that my daughter wants one. Anything that will encourage her to read, is A-Ok with me. Neither of my children developed a love of books that I have. Maybe when they get older? or maybe their future is e-readers.

Yes, the Nook is Barnes and Noble. I got my Kindle from Amazon so I can order books from them, too.

My wife and I have 4 more of these that are just as full. . . Want to guess where we stand on the e-book thing?
