  Don't forget the old tradition of having cabbage on the first day of the new year for good luck the rest of the year.  We're having pressure cooked spareribs and sauerkraut, carrots and potatoes.

I have a nice ham in the crockpot w/potatoes, carrots, onions and seasonings and I'm going to saute some cabbage to go with it. I wish that I had spareribs though. That sounds delicious.

Some people believe black-eyed peas and greens bring good luck. I love both. :yes:

I am so disappointed, I bought the "Sun" magazine at the supermarked check out to see what would their predictiions for 2010 were and not a single one of them came true. You would think a national magazine would do better than that~  :biggrin:

Organ donors save lives. Please make sure that you give this option due consideration, and to inform your friends and family of your desire to become an organ donor should the unthinkable occur! And have your status as an organ donor placed onto your drivers license if your state endorses doing so.

I have a personal friend who was lucky enough to be the recipient of the lungs from a 19 year old accident victim/organ donor just 4 short months ago. She was within the last months of her VERY young life, due to congenital lung defect over which she had no control what so ever.

Today she is a vibrant and active young woman that is truly thankful for the gift of life this unknown donor and donor's family gave to her. Without their unselfish generosity at such a trying time in their own lives, we would have surely been buring our friend this year.

Give the most precious gift one human being can give to another; the gift of life!
