Thanks guys... he really hasn't improved at all. He laid in the recliner all day, wouldn't eat anything, and barely spoke 15 words all day. He's in his little shell. He tends to do that when he is very sick. I have to work tomorrow, which normally I don't work Mondays. My boss is on vacation.  It seems like this type of stuff always happens at the most inopportune times. When it rains it pours.  He has work tomorrow night, so I hope he's feeling better. :-\

Even if he does feel better tomorrow it probably wouldn't hurt for him to call off work, if he has the option, to give himself another day of rest to be on the safe side.

I wish he could call off. The company he works for doesn't allow sick days. If they miss work for any reason they get a write up. If they're in the hospital it's a good enough excuse to miss a day.  That or dead. And they still want proof that they're dead LMAO!!!  :dead:

Thats just wrong any way you look at it.  What kind of idiot came up with those kind of rules anyway?  Te write someone up for taking time off for being sick is just plain expecting too much from employees.

Here's the even worse part... a lot of the guys take 2 days off ,and only get one write up. People call off on a Thursday, and make it a 4 day weekend. Hubby has tried many times to even request a day off, and they won't let him, simply because people call off sooooo much for frivolous reasons, that they're always short handed. After so many months  the write ups are voided, but they are still on your permanent record. If for some reason somebody called off, and took the write ups, and then screwed up big time, they could be fired. Hubby won't chance it because, he has seen people get fired in that situation.

I wonder if it's legal. Has anyone ever checked w/the labor board? Seriously, I can't imagine the danger they're putting not only the drivers in, but other people as well, by putting them on the road when they're sick. While there are people who call in for the hell of it, you have people who won't call in even if they're on death's door. They shouldn't be behind the wheel.

He called off tonight. He was just too sick to go. Now, he'll get wrote up.  I don't know if it's legal or not.  At his job the workers are just a number. Upper management don't care diddly squat about the safety of their workers. As long as they kept the money rolling in that's all that matters.

What upper management may not realize is that it might be bigger than they are. You husband may have the right to file a grievance through a governing agency. He can take the write up, show up when he feels better and continue to be a good employee, but seriously, I'd look into it. There's no reason at all that an employee should feel guilty for being legitimately sick and no reason why he should take a hit when he's a good employee AND putting him on the road under such circumstances would be a dangerous move.

My job? I could have double pneumonia and other than infecting everyone around me...no one would be in jeopardy. LOL

He called off tonight too. He is doing better though. He ate a half of a McRib sandwich. He's goin' back to work tomorrow night. He'll only be working two nights this week. Then Friday night vacation starts.  :sofa:
