frosted flakes.  lunch is usually a sandwich, pudding, yogurt, fruit cup, chips.  too much sugar maybe?

i think i might have no choice but to medicate.  he wanted to play video games after school.  i said, home work.  (not even 10 minutes home work.  20 spelling words written once.) it took him over an hour to do it.

i've been trying to help him focus.  i have ADD/ADHD that i've never been medicated for.  sure i go a thousand ways at once--but when channeled right, i get everything accomplished that i want to.

:(

@ dex:  my sister got him out of the house and walked with him to the jail to visit his friend who she is dating... (that's another screwed up story for another day.)  at least she got him to leave the house.  he was screaming at the top of his lungs the other day.  "what am i going to do?  she can't die."  etc.
I'm soo sorry to hear he isn't much better.  :'( I'm sure it's very hard to deal with emotionally for you. Has he ever been hospitalized before? You hate to have to do that, but sometimes it's for their own safety. My Mom's been in at least 4 times. Maybe they can get him leveled out on meds and counseling, it might make a world of difference. I always hated leaving Mom there, but it was for her own good, she was a danger to herself, and others around her, so it was for the best. Is he completely by himself, since your Mom went to the hospital? He really shouldn't be alone right now. It sounds like your sister, and you are a good support system for him. Just don't let it pull you down. You've got all of your friends here at The Zone, to help you through.

yeah, he's alone.  (there might be a pal of his staying over there...)  he's attempted suicide before (whole bottle of pills, cuts himself up--sews designs in his skin with dark thread--looks kinda pretty... not very clean)... i don't think they've ever kept him for observation though.  i've been trying to talk him down--he screams at me, but it's ok.  i understand it.  (i've recognized it in myself...)

i was going to call him and see if he wants to stay here with me, since my victim is gone--but realized he might be watching my sister's kids before and after school.

it's funny that he is so dangerous to himself and ppl off the streets--but would never hurt the nieces and nephews--you can see it in his eyes that he loves them.  he must wonder why his childhood went so wrong.  my poor brother.  i wonder if he'll come over for tea or something.
don't threaten me with a good time.

It's such a sad situation ~vxn~. Just try to be careful around him, if he's somewhat unbalanced, he might get violent. There's only soo much you can do. Does your Mom know that he is this unstable? Will your Mom be healthy enough to go back home? Will she be able to recover, while trying to take care of him?

i talked to him again.  he's feeling a bit better about things.  was deep frying some fries.... said they'd be "clean"  we both laughed.  (he meant "clean" as in fresh grease/lard/crisco)

It's good he's up doing something. He cares enough to make something for himself to eat. I really hope he gets doing better. You guys have been through soo much in your lives. You deserve some peace and happiness.

vxn - re: your beastie, could be the sugar/sleep combo. My son, great kid  and never used to cause trouble at school (he's 16 now and thinks he's a man, knows it all, etc...normal), but as a small fella, he'd sit in his desk and occupy himself at school. His teachers thought he was doing his work and/or just never focused on him because he didn't bring attention to himself.  Until the 1st progress report, then it would be noted that he wasn't completing his work. He'd do his homework and I'd check it and he wouldn't turn it in. We tried charts, rewards, reminder tricks...you name it. The teachers were always great at making suggestions, but none of them worked. So, we took him to the Dr. He didn't want to put my son on medication and suggested that I reduce his sugar and annotate his sleep patterns and the amount of sleep he was getting. With a modified diet he was going to sleep earlier and sleeping better.

I'd like to say that we found success...we did....but then girls replaced the sugar.

PIYA!  You are too much!

I always like to suggest a modified diet first before meds.  We just don't realize what we are feeding our kids until we stop and look at labels!  Ugh!

Good luck vxn.
Take time to smell the roses.

thank you, piya and kimmi... i'll work on that... (bedtime is 7:30-8.  they stay up and talk to each other for an hour or so)... sugar might not be helping.

dex... some ppl can never find peace.  we can only hope to find a place that is not utter chaos of the mind.  he still has a lot of work to do to get there--and my mother is not going to help him find it.  and now my sister is going to hell in a hand basket (that new guy of hers, happens to be bro's best pal--has been living in her house is now in jail and she just learned that he's been cheating on her the whole time.  decided she should cut.)  not sure how much more of this i can handle.  i am the oldest.  it is my duty to try to keep order.

freaking impossible.

someone threw a kitten on my porch.  again.  damnit.  he was walking like he is hurt.  he might not even be 6 weeks old.  wouldn't drink or eat.  shivering soooo bad.  (rainy and chilly out today)  i made up a shoe box for him on the porch.  he's been sleeping for hours.

where is animal control when i need them?  (they'll take him to the shelter... where he can have a good home.)

:spooked: Did they actually throw it on your porch, or just leave it there? I hate it when people dump cats. I guess I'd rather they dumped them, instead of kill them.  :'(  Do you have pets? You could always keep him. Ya know, there's always room for one more kitten LOL!!!!   :grin2:

right before we saw him on the porch, i heard something hit my house--i thought it was a ball (kids are always throwing crap at my house--usually rocks, eggs, and the occasional BB or pellet).

animal control took him to the shelter--he was too young to eat on his own, maybe 4 weeks at the most.

i have 2 bad cats now... (that i am allergic to).  my victim would never let me have another cat...

uh oh, get out of the way damn fast.... damfast is p!st!  (i hope she's in better spirits today...)
