You mean the ones who want to curb spending and vote on/create a budget that we haven't had for the last 3rys?  Of course if you don't have a budget you don't have to stick to it you can just spend whatever you want whenever you want and don't have to worry about exceeding it. Ooooorrrr you could just print some more money.

Not saying those aren't valid conversations to have, however this global conversation that you brought up in this thread was accelerated by the brinksmanship that we saw by certain members of Congress during what should have really been a routine matter.  And those members of Congress were comprised of the Tea Party Republicans.  Pure, flat out, and simple.

I absolutely am.  That is a valid conversation to have at some point, but that was the wrong time to have it, and to have it carried out on the global stage was an even bigger mistake.  Those Tea Party freshmen, in acting on their zealous rhetoric, had no idea of the consequences of their actions.  Even if a few did, I'm not so sure they cared.  The blame rests with them.
