. . .Tensions with Iran are adding at least 30 cents to a gallon of gasoline in the United States, and experts say gas prices have only just begun to rise.
Gasoline prices have surged over 10% in the last two months, largely tracking the runup in oil prices, which have increased by a similar amount and are now at a 9-month high.

Several factors have caused oil prices to rise, including the sense that the economy is improving and supply disruptions in a handful of minor oil producing nations.
But the biggest factor by far, say analysts, is fear that tensions with Iran will lead to an all-out war that causes a disruption in oil supplies.
"The market right now is fairly well supplied," said John Kingston, director of oil, at the analytics firm Platts. "You've just got a significant fear factor that things could get worse.". . .

Here we go again with the "sky is falling" methodology surrounding fuel pricing. This is outrageous, especially when you take a look at this:

And see that apparently the US doesn't even import from Iran!

Know what you mean.  At the filling station where we buy our gas went up 36 cents in 24 hours.  We had drove by the station and my wife said I need gas, I wait until tomorrow.  Next day 36 cents higher.

We ask the girl at the station if the gas tanker had been in, she said no.  So here the Greedy Bastard go again, making an extra 36 cents a gallon on gas they already bought.

The oil companies are absolutely crooks and thieves.  But old :me: says that she doesn't care how much companies and corporations charge for their product or service, just as long as she can buy it.

Yes but the counties who do who have now been cut off have to buy theirs on the global market driving the prices higher for everyone.

Oil is a commodity and is therefore sold for what it costs to replace rather than what was paid for it.  If you bought gold last week, for example, and it went up $50.00, you would sell it for the new price, not what you paid for it.  Don't blame the gas stations; blame the suppliers...and the speculators.  IMO, oil should be treated as necessary for national security and speculation should not be allowed.

 NO SPECULATION ON OIL!  If you don't use it in your business, you don't get to buy it and speculate on its price.  What does a banker or a stock trader need it for except to make money. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
