I turned it off at the conclusion of the 1st quarter. Sleep is far more important to me than watching a losing proposition.

I did not see it but apparently the 2nd half resulted in another Colts comeback win. One has to wonder how much the collapse of the head coach at the half played in the 2nd half results. There is no quantifying the psychological impact that had on the Texans, serving as just enough of a diversion to allow the Colts to win it.

I think it did indeed disrupt the offensive flow of the game....Kubiak was sending in the plays....but I think our coach deserves some credit, he stresses his players to stay focused and positive.  That along with Luck, who is turning out to be a great leader...did exactly that. They stayed focused and took advantage of the situation and won yet again.

Great teams find a way to win....and the Colts are becoming a great team.  6-2 baby!

They're not great by Irsays standards. No SB wins for this team. No MULTIPLE SB wins for this team.

And the Bears take out the Pack's QB last night and squeak out a win.

No discount "daa-ble check" for the Pack this year! Broken collar-bone.

You don't have to win SB to be a great team, in my opinion.  Dan Marino and the Dolphins were great, back in the day.
The Bears won ONE SB, but had some great teams.

I think Irsay is building a great team.  He has done it in the past, and will do it again.

Not according to him; in his own words. He considers Brady and company a great team. . . But not the Colts.

I think Irsay has a big mouth, and doesn't always know when to keep it shut....but despite what he says, I KNOW great teams.

Of the last 14 years, they have won 10 or more games 12 times....won 12 or more 9 times.  They have been to two Super Bowls, 3 conference championships....Not bad at all.  I have had a blast following the Colts since Jim Harbaugh was captain comeback.

I don't need Irsay to tell me if he has a great team.

Absolutely!

So, it matters not if he is becoming more and more like his father; especially when it comes to the team he owns and his treatment of them.

What he fails to realize is that if he continues down the path he is currently on, the people who pay for those tickets will turn against him; right after the players get fed up and tell him to go pound sand. And they will. Just like they did with his father, they'll leave and those that remain will be scrubs that couldn't win against a one man team.

Then ol Irsay will pull up the Mayflower trucks and leave in the middle of the night for a warmer climate. Just like daddy.

He isn't a starter, and he isn't a top of the line player, but he is (was) a member of the 7-1 Denver Broncos this year.

Afraid of the long-term consequences of an NFL career and uninterested in making a Super Bowl run, Denver Broncos guard John Moffitt shockingly informed the team Tuesday of his plans to retire. . .

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1839995-john-moffitt-explains-nfl-retirement-forfeiting-at-least-1-million-and-more?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial&hpt=hp_t3

He was smart with his money and saved as much as he could during his time in the NFL, which has been relatively very short to this point, but most of all he sat down during the bye week and thought through his career; performing a risk analysis that is shocking in its result. He is walking away from a contract with the Denver Broncos through next season, and 1 million dollars in salary, after coming to the conclusion that he is not happy, no amount of money will ever be enough, and what he has is enough to enable him to live his life. And most importantly, eliminate the high risk levels associated with playing a career in the NFL.

It is not a decision that we see everyday. A perfectly healthy professional athlete in the NFL, with a career in front of him, chunks it all to avoid crippling long term ramifications that could drastically reduce quality of life.

Not many of us would make a similar decision with millions of dollars at risk, preferring to "roll the dice" despite the odds against being able to live a normal life at the relatively young age of 35 years. Most of us would do exactly the opposite.

I applaud this young mans decision and clarity of mind. I sincerely hope that it sends the correct message to the NFL and brings about a greater and sustained effort to increase player safety.

While the result of such an effort will admittedly drastically change a sport I hold near and dear to my heart, it is after all, "only a game". And to this fan, human life and the quality of that life far outweigh the entertainment the risks of this sport have exposed generations of players to through the years.

I think your hatred of him is keeping you from seeing, perhaps another side of him.  Did you know he was given the game ball after the Colts defeated the Denver Bronco's?

Here is a quote from Chuck Pagano:

"I think he earned it. What I told the team, I don't think I'd be standing here today without the support of Jim Irsay and what I went through and what he did for me and what he did for my family. The way he feels about his team and the way he feels about his players, past and present, is what I said. He would do anything. The guy has a heart of gold. When he talks about faith, family and football, it does not bury. It's in that order. Again, he will do anything and everything for anybody in this organization and that locker room, players that have been here in the past, players that are here now. He gives us every opportunity, everything we need, to be successful and to win on the field. Coaches, players, it doesn't matter. He's the best there is in the National Football League. It was just a way for us to thank him for his support."

I think the path he is going down, is not as bad as you think it is.  Sure, he has been famous for saying some cotroversial things, but those close to him and his players, all seem to have a great deal of respect for him.  For me, it is a matter of keeping a team that I can be proud of out there every week. So far he has done a great job of doing that.

A move of pseudo-loyalty bought and paid for by Irsay. Indiana is an "at will" state and a "right to work" state. If Pagano did, does, or says anything Irsay doesn't agree with he will be summarily fired on the spot. And it will not matter what Pagano's record is, what he achieves, or how much he may be admired by those who play for him.

You're diverting from the fact that Irsay is a terrible owner that continues to rip-off the citizens of Marion county and the surrounding collar counties via public subsidization of the Luke. Your diverting from the fact that Irsay is a documented substance abuser, (Just like his dad. Different substances but same tendency toward addiction). You are diverting from the fact he is prone to "knee jerk" and reactionary statements and actions, (Just like his daddy).

This has absolutely nothing to do with Chuck Pagano, and everything to do with Jim Irsay as an owner, employer, and high-profile representative of a national entity, the NFL, that encourages some of these very same practices.

Anyone that would take a highly skilled player in the draft, Peyton Manning, and ride him hard and put him away wet as an employer, and then summarily cut the cord when he is suffering from an injury that came about as a direct result of his employment and dedication to the team that employer owns, is a scumbag. Period.

His actions reflect directly upon the team and it's players, by detracting from their achievements and sullying their individual contributions; reducing them to the status of toilet paper as he did with Manning in recent weeks.

That is my opinion of him and the only person that can change that opinion is the subject of it. And I wouldn't hold my breath in expectation of it happening anytime soon.

I couldn't disagree more with you.  I am a Colts fan, and he has given me plenty to cheer about.  Pagano could care less if this is a right to work state or not.  He said what he said, because HE has his personal opinion and he shared it.  Pagano is NO puppet.  I have a great deal of respect for him.

I never said or implied that Pagano is a puppet, but rather a slave. A slave to draconian ideals and legislation just like the rest of us that have to work for someone else to survive.

Quit making this about a coach I said nothing negative about and stop worshiping at the altar of Irsay.
