Maybe the should NOT have rested Aaron.....he just did not seem to be in sync.
Same thing happend a couple of years ago with Peyton....they sat him and then got stomped in the playoffs.

9 or 10 dropped passes didn't help.

A defense that couldn't stop a baby buggy wasn't too cool.

And Eli hitting his stride was the crusher.
Ignorance and fanaticism are ravenous. They require constant feeding.

FTW is right.  The dropped passes killed them, and their defense has been a bit suspect all season.  They put zero pressure on Eli for the whole first half.  Hated to see them go, but the Pack weren't the better of the two teams on the field yesterday.

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos suffered a crushing defeat Saturday to the New England Patriots in the playoffs, but Tebow Time may not be over.

CBS has reached out to the star quarterback to be a guest analyst for the remainder of the playoffs, according to news reports.

"We've had conversations with his people," CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said Sunday, according to USA Today. "We have a request in. We haven't heard back."

And you thought Tebow would finally have time to attend Sunday church services...

On Saturday, the Broncos got creamed by the New England Patriots 45-10. For all intents and purposes, the game was over by halftime with the Pats went up 35-7. Tebow fans, and perhaps only the most ardent believers, might have tuned in late into the third quarter hoping for a miracle.

It didn't happen.

He had one of his worst games of the season, completing only nine passes for 136 yards and getting sacked five times. Usually a threat with his feet, the quarterback finished with only 13 yards on the ground.

Still, Denver coach John Fox said he couldn't help but praise the quarterback, who turned a 1-5 start into a 9-9 finish, including a spectacular overtime playoff win against Pittsburgh.

"I was really proud where he started and where he brought this team," Fox said Saturday night, accordng to the Denver Post. "We are a work in progress. We have got a lot of work to do, and that hasn't changed. The two matchups we had (this season) against the New England Patriots, I think it is evident that we have work to do."

After Saturday's loss, Tebow hinted that all the fanfare associated with him may have been a bit too much.

"Sometimes you definitely don't want it all. You'd like to just go to dinner, hang out with friends and just be a normal 24-year-old... so that makes it sometimes hard," Tebow said, according to the Denver Post. "But I wouldn't change it for the world."

In the end, Tebow is clearly the NFL's most popular player. He leaves the field with a nationwide congregation of fans Tebowing all over the place (Aaron Rodgers' "belt motion" just never caught on), unanswered questions about his passing game and a religious fervor of expectations for the Broncos next season.

On Saturday, Tebow updated his Facebook status with the Biblical message, "Romans 8:37-39 GB²." The verses basically say that nothing can separate us from God's love.

He may not be your quarterback, but did he rock the NFL's world this season? We've got to say amen to that.

Exactly!   Had those passes been caught, the outcome would have been much closer to say the least. Had the defense been able to get penetration and rattle Eli, the outcome would have been reversed. But the bottom line is they did not.

Yup. I tend to agree with this. These teams who exercise the "rest theory" always seem to be rusty when the players are returned to the field. Now, many will say it is hogwash and perhaps it is, but the way to eliminate it as a possibility is to play them.

Look at what  the Pats did with Brady. They played him into the 4th quarter despite a commanding lead and the fact that the rest of the team was manhandling their opponent. And they'll come out next weekend loaded for bear again.

Giving them a quarter off late in the game makes more sense.

I know that if I work out for days on end, and work through the initial stiffness and soreness, I am fine; until I stop. When I stop the stiffness and soreness return at an increased level, to the point that when I resume activity, I can not execute at the level and with the effectiveness I possessed before the break.

Look at the teams with the bye weeks. More often than not they come back the following week and are lethargic at best, despite team workouts that are held game weeks and bye weeks.

Once your body gets used to performing at a higher level, when you reduce that level the reaction of your body to the reduced levels of activity makes getting back to it a lot harder.

It just makes sense. With horses that are raced, they are run, jogged, and hot walked every day, no exceptions unless they are injured. Why? Because of the very same thing!

That is my point....and yes, dropping those passes surely did not help...but, they are out all the same.

could there be a Harbaugh Bowl?  Could Jim be coming back home to Indy?

I doubt it.

I certainly think 49'ers are capable of beating the Giants....Not sure if ravens can beat the pats though.....I think it would be a great SB though.

This is going to be an interesting off season to say the least.

The Colts organization needs to get this right on all fronts.

With guys like Saturday potentially retiring, some large holes are going to open up!
