I can attest to the fact that ultrasound is indeed considered "prenatal care", and have the pictures of my last 4 grandchildren, (in the womb), to prove it! Some of which I have posted within this very forum.

Diagnostic, prenatal care testing has become SOP in the United States and has helped many potential parents in preparing for a child that will be born with a disability, and in some cases making the hard choice to terminate a pregnancy that will result in a child experiencing a very poor quality/quantity of life should the pregnancy be allowed to run its course.

It is a decision that no one wants to make, but a decision that entails mercy as its basis for being arrived at. And this guy wants to eliminate a woman / couple's right to make an informed decision based upon the empirical evidence this testing provides!

I have a cousin who gave birth to two children with severe birth defects, before any medical testing was performed to determine the cause for these defects. Had she and her husband known ahead of time that the children would be born with this condition, they would have had an opportunity to spare the children the short and tortured lives they lived. (This was before prenatal care included diagnostic testing procedures that are SOP today).

Hate to say this but I agree on this one.  He is letting his personal feelings overrule his better judgement because it doesn't always turn out for everyone else like it did for him and there are severe deformities where the child should not be born but that is up to the parents to decide.  But it is just the prenatal "testing" just for the purpose of abortions he wants stopped, which I don't think is done, not the preventative.  I think he's dazed and confused on that reasoning because I don't believe anyone has those tests done with the sole purpose of having an abortion in mind.  The way Troll stated his original post was prenatal care which encompassed all of it which is why I questioned it and looked up the article and interview and let Troll know he did not say all of prenatal care.

  Just look at the states where the Republican control the states.  Just a plain disasters.  Look and Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Virgina, Arizona and many other Republican control states.  The Republicans say they want freedom and small government.  But if you look they want to take a woman's rights and workers to have a union and want to increase the taxes on the poor and middle class and protect the super from more taxation.

  We have a Republican controlled state of Virginia.  Right now they are trying to pass a bill that says that a woman who wants a abortion to have a 12 inch long, 2 inches in diameter probe shoved up into the woman's Virgina for an ultrasound against her will or consent.  I call it RAPE.  The men can get Viagra on their state health insurance to have more unwanted pregnancies.  I say if the men want Viagra to have the same probe shoved up their penis's.  Virginia dicks and pricks only.

  The Republicans in Virginia want to pass a bill to make in illegal to use a cuss word on the Internet, making it a crime to cuss.  What is wrong with the Christian dumbasses.  What about free speech in the Constitution. 

  When are the Republican women and the other women going to raise up and have those ultrasound probes shoved up the Republican men's asses and put this country back into the 21ST Century.

  The Republicans are always screaming about Obama raping the Constitution, the super rich, the country and religion.  But it's  OK to shove a large probe up a woman's Virgina for an ultrasound without her consent.  We have to stop the agenda of the Republican to return American into a European Dark Ages.
