So let me get this straight. The LAW decided that a bunch of common citizens in the state of Mississippi can decide on when life begins based upon emotional hyperbole and religious zealotry, and not empirical scientific data?

I think the judges of this country have gone straight off the deep end and into the pockets of religious zealots and corporations!  All logic has now gone out the window and nothing short of religious zealotry and the worship of the almighty dollar have taken its place!

She doesn't put anyone down but I don't think she ever goes to church except to a wedding or funeral and yet she is so opposed to abortion she wouldn't go to a hospital or to a doctor whose office was in a building where abortions were performed. She says everyone deserves a chance to live.

No, I don't think you necessarily have to be religious to be anti-abortion, although the roots of these sorts of amendments fall squarely in the realm of religion.  These people, who sponsored this amendment in Mississippi, think they're doing the will of the sky daddy by trying to force their views of what's right and what's wrong onto others.

Do you really have to be "religious" to oppose abortion? I fall more to the pro choice side of the issue but I have a cousin who is about as "unreligious" (is that a word? ) as you can be.   Even the Old Troll doesn't like abortion.  But, I am not going to force my feelings and that is all it is is feelings on some young girl or woman.  It's her body and nobody and I mean nobody has any right to stick their nose in her business just because of feelings.

  Until something comes a long that will prevent unwanted pregnancies, I will continue my same feeling about it.

All I am sayin is, that federal tax dollars should NOT be paying for any Abortions.  NONE!  ZERO!  If a woman desires an abortion, she needs to pay for it herself or find a charity org that pays for it. 

On a personal level, I think abortions are a shame. I support Pro Life...because I think it is the right thing, that baby deserves a chance and not murdered.

On a citizens level........I just don't want tax dollars KILLING, what I believe is another innocent human life.

  You know Hawk when we had a strike vote we voted for it.  Because if we didn't the company would think they had the upper hand and we wouldn't get anything.  The vote in congress was the same way, none of them really wanted a war, but they wanted to send a message to Saddam that we were serious, but George W. and Cheney wanted war.  That's what we got a Bush/Cheney war.

isn't that what he is doing now?..............YES, he could have walked out, that is what he said he was going to do.........But, he waited just before electicon time to roll around to bring them home.

for what it is worth, I think Bush DID screw up big time with that war..........we should have pulled out as soon as SH was captured.  Colin Powel suggested we broke it, so we had to fix it.....he listened to that and I think that is where we went wrong.
